Jose Mourinho gives three reasons why Liverpool might not be champions

Image
Former Manchester United coach Jose Mourinho has praised Liverpool to the heavens, credited their phenomenal start to the season to their shrewd planning and never- die- attitude.

Liverpool have won 11 games and drawn just once this season.. They're 8 points clear of 2nd placed Leicester City and 9 points clear of Manchester City.

Despite their fine start to the season, Jose can still see lapses in the team and feels that could be the reason they won't win the title.

Mourinho listed the problems as follows:

1. What happens if Virgil van Dijk picks up a long term injury-

Since Van Dijk joined Liverpool back in 2017 and has played virtually all the games in Jurgen Klopp's watch. He has missed just one Premier League game {having injured his ribs}.
Image
Klopp was forced to rest him after Ronald Koeman called him to complain about Van Dijk's ribs and inserted he rest his captain cause he needs time to recover..

Had the call not be made, Klopp would've gone on to play him which goes to prove the German depends on Van DIjk's world class defensive altitudes to win games.

Van Dijks isn't just good he recovers and heals quickly that is one reason why Liverpool fans loves him.

2. What happens if Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane both get injured for a month or two-

Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah are without doubt the two most reliable goalscorers in Liverpool.

Two those are the goal-getter, match winners and tittle decideRs. If Liverpool are to win trophies, they need those two to be fit, in form and motivated.

Take both attackers out of Liverpool's front line and you will be amazed how average Liverpool will become.
Image
3. The pressure to deliver after 30 years of failure-

For the past 30 years, Liverpool have failed repetitively to win the Premier League title. They might have started this season brilliantly by winning 11 games and drawing just once but, pessimists still feels they won't win it.

They can see something strange happening to Liverpool and them losing the Premier League title despite having a strong grip on it.

The pressure will certainly be intensified as the season draws to a close and knowing Liverpool as a club that cracks under pressure, they might crack again.

And also there for a short time. Joining Bayern would be difficult for him at the moment. Because, of course, he is still far from ...

Should Manchester City pay £80m for Leicester City defender Caglar Soyuncu?

Leicester City has reportedly rejected Manchester City's £38m bid to sign their highly rated defender Caglar Soyuncu.  According to the Sun, the foxes want City to up their bid to £80-90m for the 23-year-old Turkish international who they feel possess similar quality to Harry Maguire {£80m} and Virgil van Dijk {£75m}.  Soyuncu is without doubt a top football who is growing in strength and stature under the tutelage of Brendan Rodgers. But with City struggling in their defensive unit due to injuries to their top defenders Aymeric Laporte and John Stones, the need to sign a defender is now a priority.  But signing Soyuncu for £80m looks too desperate and a to many a complete waste of money.  So should City sign him for £80m or less?

West Ham in advanced negotiation to sign Liverpool defender

West Ham are reportedly closing in on signing Liverpool fullback Nathaniel Clyne.  The 27-year-old England international have found it difficult holding down a regular playing berth under Jurgen Klopp due to injuries and fatigue problems.  In fact, his biggest problem now is Trent Alexander Arnold- that boy is simply world class.  He is Liverpool's most creative player and the one player who creates more goal-scoring chances that the entire midfield combined.  To further prove his worth, he has a Guinness  World Record for the Most by a defender {22}. This season he already has 9.  Clyne will cost any team interested in his service $12m to sign including West Ham.

Injury boast: Manchester City super defender returns to training

Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola has confirmed that his highly dependable defender Aymeric Laporte is back and undergoing light training.  The French defender's return will come as huge boast to City who are seriously struggling for consistency or keep out goals.  City have kept just one clean sheet in 15 Premier League matches which goes to prove why Liverpool are 13 points clear of them.  Guardiola was asked if Aymeric Laporte and Leroy Sane are back and he said;  "First of all, Happy New Year for everyone. Laporte and Leroy are injured and the rest are ok!" he told the press.  Quizzed again on Laporte, he added: "He's getting better. He's training alone but already on the pitch. I don't know but he's in the last part.  "In one week or ten days he can start to trian with us".

Former Manchester City coach backs Liverpool to win the Premier League title

Former Manchester City coach Stuart Pearce is of the view that Liverpool will beat City to the Premier League title.  Liverpool have started the season in fine fashion having won eight games and drawn just once in nine matches. They're six points clear of City and Pearce feels Liverpool won't lose too many games this season.  But, he has ruled Liverpool replicating the phenomenal achievement of Arsenal finishing the season unbeaten.  "I think Liverpool will win the Premier League comfortably this year", Pearce told talkSPORT.  "I'm not sure they'll go unbeaten, but i can't see them losing more than two games. They're still clear favourites. Those could be against Manchester City, potentially, but if you go into the game against your nearest rivals with a xix-point buffer, it will put real pressure on Man City to come and play.  "That might just suit Liverpool".  Liverpool will play Genk next in the Champions League while Man...

De Bruyne reveals Manchester City most underrated player

Kevin de Bruyne has lauded praises on Fernandinho who he says is the club's most underrated player.  Fernandinho impact at City have been huge, he is arguably the club's best defensive midfielder and the one of the top 3 defensive midfielders in world football.  But as he ages, Pep Guardiola decided it was time he switched from a more defensive role into a full blow centre-back which has impressed De Bruyne.  Asked about his vice-captain, De Bruyne said: "Dinho can play everywhere. Since i came here he's been really under-rated", he told Sky Sports.  "For me he was one of the best defensive midfielders in the world, and now he just comes in as central defender and does what he does.  "Props to him, because obviously he is 35 and it's not easy to play a new position, especially when you've never done it in the 14 years before that".  Fernandinho is on course to sign a one year contract with Manchester City.

Confirmed: Real Madrid in advanced talk to sign Paul Pogba

Real Madrid are finally closing in on signing Manchester United superstar Paul Pogba reports the Sun.  Pogba has played a peripheral role this season having been marred with injuries and fatigue problems.  Currently, the midfielder is out for a month with a calf injury and don't look like someone who is interested in recovering soon and playing for Manchester United again.  Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is fully aware of Pogba's situation and Real Madrid's intentions to sign him but, has kept the media at the dark by insisting Pogba is not for sale while a deal is been conducted at board room.  Paul Pogba will join Real Madrid this January or in the summer if the Spanish giants can pay United $130m.
