Manchester United fans react angrily to Ashley Young's one year contract extension

Manchester United captain Ashley Young will not be joining Inter Milan next summer neither will he be signing a pre-contract agreement with other clubs having be given a one-year contract extension.  Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a huge fan of the 34-year-old and feels his presence at the club will be useful to the younger players in the team.  Although, the decision to keep him at the club haven't gone down well with fan who vented angrily on different social medias.  Some of the tweet reads; "How the might have fallen.. "  Another aggrieved post reads: "The more Man U fans want to escape the more the owners give them pain".  Another reads: "This Ole and Co. are really taking us for granted. You can't be renewing Ashley's contract while there are real loopholes to cover.. it's getting out of hand".  Sad ones goes this way: "Why, just why would you do that? He is part of the dead wood that they need clearing out "This ...

Manchester United 1- 1 Liverpool: Marcus Rashford is a beast and 5 things we learnt

For a while it felt like Manchester United were superior to Liverpool as their moved the ball much quicker, created good chances and opened the scoring through a magnificent ball to Marcus Rashford.  Rashford for one was just unstoppable, his energy, swagger and relentless running scared the death out of Liverpool's defense including Van Dijk who struggled all game to contain him.  He did score the goal that would've been the match winner but one area of judge from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer changed everything.  Taking off Rashford allowed Liverpool's defense to push forward and pile pressure on United's brittle back line.. It allowed Andrew Robertson cross a delicious ball into the 12-yard box which evaded everyone except Adam Lallana who needed just a tap in to score and restore parity.  Although, Liverpool did have the lion share of possession but without their star man, Mohamed Salah to stretch United defense, they really struggled to create chances....

1 win in 13 games! Can Liverpool really beat Manchester United at Old Trafford?

Since 2009, Liverpool have succeeded in beating Manchester Untied just once in 11 meetings.. The Red devils have won 9 games, drawn 3 and lost once back in 2009.  Head to head, Manchester United have the better advantage against Liverpool having scored 26 goals as agaisnt Liverpool's 8 at Old Trafford. They've kept more clean sheets {5}, came back from a losing position {4} and scored more than 3 or more goals {4}.  Statistically, Manchester Untied have a better chance of beating Liverpool at the moment than the reverse.  Why? United have everything riding on this game. They've to win to save Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's job and secondly must win not to drop into the relegation zone.  A win for United is a must or its going to end catastrophic for Solskjaer and his troops.  Liverpool meanwhile can leave with a defeat or draw but Klopp would want more. He will want his team to keep the momentum going and equal Manchester City's 18 match winning s...

3 reasons why Manchester United can beat Liverpool at Old Trafford

For the second time this season, Jurgen Klopp will be able to call upon his dependable first eleven for a Premier League clash.  The good part of this situation is that Klopp will be able to play his best 11 against a depleted and disorganized Manchester United. He will want to knock them off their parch and probably end the tenure of yet another manager by blowing them away at Old Trafford.  Liverpool are aiming to become the second team in history to win 18 consecutive matches after Manchester City as well as the first to win their first nine games in a row. In fact the Reds are 15 points ahead of United after 8 games which is the biggest point ever in Premier League history. But that counts to nothing knowing the history between both clubs. Liverpool haven't beaten United at Old Traford since 2014. While their phenomenal front three have struggled to score goals at the theater of dreams.  Roberto Firmino is the only Liverpool attacker to have managed to score ...

Enough with the Manchester United bashing! Pundits and ex-players no nothing about management

Everyday you flip through the sports papers or watch the pundits speak about Manchester United all you get to read or hear are wishful think and pointless suggestion.  Everybody think is all about signing this and that player before United get back to their rhythm and success. Some are even calling for present United manager to be sacked. Painfully, nobody wants to accept the fact that United just like Liverpool of the 80's have hit rock bottom and will need serious restructure from the top management down to the bottom to get back to winning ways.  Manchester United have fallen from grace to grass since Sir Alex Ferguson decided back in 2012 it was time he ended his 32-year sting at United. What Fergie did in 32-years with Manchester United can never be replicated . He made United what it is today, a global brand loved across the world and still respected by many. The Transition was always going to be difficult, any manager coming in will certainly need tim...

Can Manchester United really get a point or a win against Liverpool at Old Trafford?

How do you beat Liverpool? A question Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his coaching staff will have to find a solution in just two weeks time.  That solution to beating Liverpool will save Solskjaer job, reinvigorate his team and off course, make the blue half of Manchester love him.. He might even get a congratulatory call from Pep Guardiola.  But achieving that fate will hard. Liverpool are unbeaten in 8 games and are in a run of 17 consecutive wins. If they beat United at Old Trafford they will equal Manchester City's 18 match winning streak.  Liverpool's away form is terrifying, they've won their last eight away matches, scoring 15 goals while conceding just 4 goals. In over 48 matches, only Manchester City have succeeded in beating them and that was last season.  Put this way, Liverpool don't lose Premier League matches, the best you can get from them is a draw but even that draw is very hard to get.  United though will see the return of Aaron Wan- Bissa...

Jaun Mata gives 3 reasons why Manchester United will win a trophy this season

Manchester United might have lost its aura and fear factor but some players still believe in the club's rich history and ability to disappoint the doubters.  Juan Mata is one of those players who really believe that Manchester United can still win something. big. He feels the squad is good and only then need is team work and organisation to get back to basics.  Realistically, United have big chance to win the Caraboa Cup, teh FA Cup and the Europa League. The Premier League would've been included but it takes of level of consistency to compete against Liverpool and Manchester City.  Liverpool won't lose more than one game all season while City might lose 3 or 4 but will later go on to win 10 to 15 games consecutively.  Mata still believes United will stun the world and gives three reasons:  1. United are underdogs and nobody believe they're good enough-  Consistency and lack of cohesion currently typifies United at the moment. ...

3 reasons why Manchester United must not sack Ole Gunnar Solskajear

Since Alex Ferguson bowed out of Manchester United in 2012, the club have hired and fired 4 managers and fired 3 who failed to replicate Fergie's winning formula.  Ole Gunnar Solskajear is the next manager in the firing line haven seen United struggle so early in the season. The Red devils have won just two matches all season and sit 10 points off league leaders Liverpool who looks destined to win their first Premier League title this season.  The sight of watching Liverpool win consecutive games while United struggle to beat the likes of Crystal Palace and West Ham is embarrassing.. But Solskajear has a solution and soon the fans will see a sudden change.  Here are the five reasons why Manchester United should not sack Solskajear 1.  Manchester United are currently rebuilding their team and will need time to deliver-  United are currently getting it right with their recruitment strategy but for this to work fans have to be patient. Manchest...

Manchester City stars reacts to Pep Guardiola returning to Bayern Munich

Vincent Kompany, Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva have all tagged reports linking Pep Guardiola to Bayern Munich as 'bulls**t'. Guardiola did manage Bayern Munich for three seasons and won 8 trophies before joining Manchester City back in 206. He left as a fulfilled man having joined Germany's biggest club, revolutionized their playing style and made them a force to reckon with.  Having achieved everything he wanted to at Bayern Munich, Guardiola took the next step in his managerial career by signing a contract with Manchester City.   His first season in the Premier League was difficult, City finished trophy-less but still managed to finish in the top four.  Surprisingly, he was nicknamed 'Fraudiola' by jealous fans who felt his style of play can never be implemented in the fast and furious Premier League.  But rather than run for cover, Guardiola was bold and courageous, he knew his style of play can be implemented in any league and still su...

Bernando Silva reveals what two interesting things about Liverpool

Manchester City star Bernando Silva has praised Liverpool's incredible display and their ability to see out game without a fuss. Silva did get City's consolation goal but he wasn't in the mood to talk about the penalty controversy but rather focused on how Liverpool play, their attacking style and atmosphere in Anfield.  Liverpool are nine points clear of City and 8 points clear of second placed team- Leicester City.  Asked first about the penalty controvers and later about the match, Bernando said:  "I have not seen it yet. You guys should analyse it not me. If i speak i will be in trouble. I don't want to speak. I have not watched it", a defiant Silva replied.  "I think we played one of the best sides in the world, it's never easy in a stadium like Anfield. We had started better than them when we conceded the first goal. First counter, first goal, you cannot give them an inch, because if you do they will take it and score goals".  ...

Jermaine Jenas: Christian Eriksen will consider joining Liverpool in the summer

Former Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas is urging Christian Eriksen not to leave Spurs in hurry as the January transfer window draws closer.  Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will want to sell him to this January to realise some cash but Jenas feels it will be wise for him to stay until the end of the season.  Eriksen will be out of contract in the summer and will be free to join Europe's biggest club including Liverpool whose manager -Jurgen Klopp- is a huge admirer of the dane.   "I think the club were happy to let him leave but they just didn't get the figure that they wanted or Christian didn't get the club that he wanted", Jenas told The Mirror.  "If i was Eriksen and the bid didn't come in that i wanted to come in, i would sit tight, i wouldn't rush. Not only can i move for free in the summer, but that brings in Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, all the big hitters, Man Utd, even Liverpool.  "On top of that you have the huge windfall of w...

Breaking: Manchester City highly rated midfielder recovers in time to face Liverpool

Manchester City's highly rated star Rodri has returned to training ahead of Liverpool showdown.  The defensive midfielder/centre back has missed two of City's last two Premier League wins over Aston Villa and Southampton due to a hamstring injury..  His recovery will come as huge boast for City who will face Liverpool next at Anfield.  Anfield is a fortress and City are fully aware of this having failed to win there since 2003 neither have the club's record goalscorer Sergio Aguero scored at Anfeild.  Rodri though will not take part in full session and will miss City's Champions League clash with Atalanta but will be ready for Liverpool.

Rivaldo reveals why Pep Guardiola is convinced Man City will be champions and not Liverpool

Brazil legend Rivaldo has bruised aside the assertion that Pep Guardiola has given up in the title race due to Liverpool's 8 point gap in the league.  The Reds are unbeaten this season and have picked up maximum points to move 8 clear of Manchester City who suffered defeats to Norwich City and then Wolves at Etihad Stadium.  Rivaldo who played alongside Guardiola at Barcelona for four seasons has revealed that the Spanish tactician is very calm, experienced and possess a strong winning mentality.  Asked if Guardiola can overtake Liverpool once again and win the Premier League title, Rivaldo said:  "Personally, knowing Guardiola having shared the Barcelona changing room with him, i know he is a very calm, experienced and strong person, who knows his players well", Rivaldo told Betfair.  "With so many more matches to play in this Premier League title race, i think he knows Manchester City can overturn their eight-point deficit to Liverpool. Guardiola ha...

Scholes: Liverpool have done something Manchester United have never done

Manchester United legend Paul Scoles has lavished praises on Liverpool who is said have already wrapped up the Premier League title.  Scholes can't see anybody catching Liverpool this season who are 13 points off Leicester City and 14 points off reigning champions Manchester City.  The scary part of Liverpool's is that they could move 16 points clear of second place Leicester City if they beat West Ham in their outstanding match.  "I don't think we'd {Manchester United} ever won it by Christmas", Scholes told Premier League Productions.  "This team- look it's game over, there's nobody {who is going to catch them}. I think the question now is how many points they going to win it by, i think they're so good.  "City have a team if any team could get anywhere near them but i don't expect that to happen. I just think Liverpool are too good. I think the biggest fight we've got now this season is probably the relegation fight ...

Gundogan reveals 2 games Manchester City must win OR lose the Premier League title to Liverpool

IIkay Gundogan still believes Manchester City have a big chance to win the Premier League title but must win two games.  City will play Liverpool twice at the Eithad Stadium and Anfield and a victory in both matches will certainly throw Jurgen Klopp's men off balance.  Its a known fact that Liverpool have won their matches this season and now eight points clear of City after eight games.  But Gundogan still has faith that Liverpool will drop points when the games become intense.  "The situation is not a new one for us - we were seven points behind in January of last season, which is a house number, a big gap", Gundogan said after scoring a brace for Germany in a 3-0 win over Estonia.  "But we play against Liverpool twice more, we have the direct duels and we can cut the gap to two points. Everything is still on", Gundogan told Sky Sports.  Manchester City will play Liverpool on November 10 and return fixture will be played on April 4th at Etihad ...

Van Nistelrooy is absolutely wrong! Lionel Messi don't deserve to win the Ballon d'Or

uud van Nistelrooy assertion that Lionel Messi deserves the Ballon d'Or ahead of other nominated players is absolutely wrong.  Lionel Messi is indeed a world class player, a dream player every team in the world will want to have but, last season wasn't his best campaign. He did score a respectable tally of goals -50 goals in 54 appearances- which is phenomenal but winning the Ballon d'Or takes more than that this days.  In the grandest of stage, Messi failed to light it up. He failed in Europe {the Champions League} and Brazil {the Copa America}. In both competition, Messi struggled to make any meaningful impact.  Barcelona were blown away by Liverpool at Anfield despite arriving the ground with a 3-0 win with Messi scoring one of the best free-kicks in the tournaments history. And with Argentina who finished 3rd in the Copa America, Messi found the net just once.  Dani Alves 34, was the player of the Tournament and not Messi who was...

Injury boast! 4 Manchester City stars returns in time to face Crystal Palace

Kevin De Bruyne, Sergio Aguero, Benjamin Mendy and John Stones will both been in contention to start for Manchester City after training with the first team on Monday ahead of their weekend game with Crystal Palace.  John Stones will provide the much needed defensive cover for City who have already 8 points adrift of Liverpool after just 8 games.  Selhurst Palace is to easy place for City, they managed to win 2 of their last five games there, while conceding 5 as to 9 goals scored.  De Bruyne though will be tasked with opening up Roy Hodgson's well drilled defense and provide the incisive passes needed for Sergio Aguero or Raheem Sterling to score the winning goals.  Pep Guardiola and City know that Liverpool have proritized winning the Premier League title this season and will do everything possible to win it. They lose a game but maybe one or two.
