Manchester United fans react angrily to Ashley Young's one year contract extension

Manchester United captain Ashley Young will not be joining Inter Milan next summer neither will he be signing a pre-contract agreement with other clubs having be given a one-year contract extension.  Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a huge fan of the 34-year-old and feels his presence at the club will be useful to the younger players in the team.  Although, the decision to keep him at the club haven't gone down well with fan who vented angrily on different social medias.  Some of the tweet reads; "How the might have fallen.. "  Another aggrieved post reads: "The more Man U fans want to escape the more the owners give them pain".  Another reads: "This Ole and Co. are really taking us for granted. You can't be renewing Ashley's contract while there are real loopholes to cover.. it's getting out of hand".  Sad ones goes this way: "Why, just why would you do that? He is part of the dead wood that they need clearing out "This ...

No Ronaldo, no goals! Real Madrid in self destruct mode as Champions League exit looms

Image
What an impact a single player can make in a team. Real Madrid had that player once in Cristiano Ronaldo, a superstar who single handily created chances and won matches on his own.

He was able to win 14 trophies with Real Madrid did also manage to become the clubs' record goalscorer with 369 goals and assists 114.. He is arguably the greatest player ever to play for Real Madrid but the mistake Los Blancos made was not to find an adequate replacement for the 40 goals per season striker.

Real Madrid are in self destruct mode evident from their present struggle and lack of consistency. This season Madrid haven't won back to back games neither have they scored more than 20 goals this season.

The goalkeeping department is presently in shambles, Thibaut Courtois have conceded nine goals in his last 14 shots. In fact, half of the 24 shots he's faced this season have flown past him. The midfield is decline while the attacker apart from Karim Benzema are not scoring goals.

Painfully, Madrid's $300m acquisition have failed to hit the ground running. Eden Hazard who should've been the man pulling the string in Madrid is fat and out of shape.

Madrid have lost and draw their first two Champions League matches against PSG and Club Brugge and must now win against Galatarasay.

A defeat or draw will be the end of Madrid's run in the Champions League and for the first time in 20 years, the 13 times Champions League winner will have to settle for the Europa League.

A disaster is about to happen in Madrid and someone will surely pay for it. Zinedine Zidane or Florentino Perez, someone will have to step down and it looks like the latter.

Why Barcelona decision to ditch Philippe Coutinho for Antoine Griezmann have failed to work

Barcelona's decision to trigger Antoine Griezmann's € 120m release clause despite having Philippe Coutinho is beginning to look silly. The Brazilian  was fantastic to watch in his first season at Camp Nou as he helped Barca win the La Liga and Copa Del Rey title.  But, his second season wasn't as promising as the first as Barcelona managed to win just the La Liga title.  The Bluagrana giants were beaten badly by Sevilla in the Copa Del Rey final and Liverpool in the Semi final of the Champions League at Anfield.  A change needed to be made and Coutinho had to be sold to pave way for a World Cup winner in Antoine Griezmann.  Glorified, respected and proven, Griezmann was everything Barcelona thought they needed to arrest the club's decline and over dependence on Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.  Unfortunately, the quick fix has failed to work as Griezmann has shown he lacks the flair, attacking prowess and mentality to drive Barcelona forward....

Chris Walder warns Liverpool: Sheffield United won't lose at Anfield

Chris Wilder has lauded praises on Liverpool and their iconic stadium 'Anfield' but warns, that his team aren't coming to Merseyside to lose like others.  Liverpool haven't lost a game in 52 matches neither have they lost a match at Anfield since April 2017. This season, they've won 17 games and drawn just once to Manchester United.. Powerful!  But, Sheffield United also boast a remarkable record. They've suffered just one away defeat to Manchester City which many believe was enabled by referee Chris Kavanagh.  Wilder believe Liverpool will be tough but his team can give them a fight.  "Going to Anfield, iconic stadium, fabulous experience, everything that Liverpool bring to the English game", Walder said during his press conference.  "They are the most powerful, historic of clubs in our game and going so well.  "But we'd like to put a little bump in their road, as we tried to do at Manchester City".

Can Manchester United really get a point or a win against Liverpool at Old Trafford?

How do you beat Liverpool? A question Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his coaching staff will have to find a solution in just two weeks time.  That solution to beating Liverpool will save Solskjaer job, reinvigorate his team and off course, make the blue half of Manchester love him.. He might even get a congratulatory call from Pep Guardiola.  But achieving that fate will hard. Liverpool are unbeaten in 8 games and are in a run of 17 consecutive wins. If they beat United at Old Trafford they will equal Manchester City's 18 match winning streak.  Liverpool's away form is terrifying, they've won their last eight away matches, scoring 15 goals while conceding just 4 goals. In over 48 matches, only Manchester City have succeeded in beating them and that was last season.  Put this way, Liverpool don't lose Premier League matches, the best you can get from them is a draw but even that draw is very hard to get.  United though will see the return of Aaron Wan- Bissa...

Was the FIFA World Best Player rigged to favour Lionel Messi? The truth is coming out!

Lionel Messi is the FIFA World Best Player for the sixth time in history but something is not right about the voting system.  Olympic team coach Shakwy Ghareeb and Egypt national captain Ahmed Elmohamady have both come out to say their votes weren't counted. Cause if it were, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah would've been sitting alongside Van Dijk and not just Messi. Samuel Eto'o echoed this thought during the ceremony as he questioned the rationale behind picking Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo whereas Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah were arguably the players that won the Champions League for Liverpool.  Mane's unbelievable display against Bayern Munich and Barcelona superseded everything Messi did last season. Mane didn't just win the Champions League with Liverpool.  He reached the Africa Cup of final with Senegal and twice weeks later, scored two decisive goals to win Liverpool the UEFA Super Cup. The 26-year-old was unbelievably good and that that is one ...

Sadio Mane reveals the 'only language' all Liverpool players understands

Liverpool's striker Sadio Mane has admitted he is lucky to be playing alongside his incredible teammates who have made his job relatively easy this season.  Mane has scored 11 goals with 5 assists in 17 appearances in all competition to help Liverpool maintain an unbeaten start to the Premier League.  The 27-year-old though is overly convinced that Liverpool strength is down to language they all speak which is football.  "I always say it is very easy to work together", Mane told Liverpool FC magazine.  "Personally, i just think myself very lucky to play alongside these great players. Every single player who plays alongside them would enjoy it because they are very good players and they make everything easy, so i just enjoy playing alongside them." Liverpool are yet to lose a Premier League match this season after 12 games and hold a 8 point lead over second place Leicester City and 9 point lead over reigning champions Manchester City.  "We are all fr...

Why Juventus no longer needs Cristiano Ronaldo to win games and trophies

For the first time in Cristiano Ronaldo's career he is no longer the star man in a team, the go-getter neither is he good enough to play 90 minutes of football. Fabio Capello a two times Champions League winner manager with Real Madrid and AC Milan made a telling revelation of the player.. He revealed Ronaldo hasn't dribbled past any player for 3 years, its just step overs and occasional cut backs.  Ronaldo no longer has the speed and dynamism he has shown in his younger days and now needs more time to recover. He has lost that physical strength to play every 3 days and now needs more time to recover. At best, Ronaldo will perform at the highest level if played every week not after three days.  Capello had this to say about Ronaldo who vented his anger when Maurizio Sarri decided to take sub him in the 55th minute against AC Milan after watching him struggle.  Ronaldo didn't like it, his childish tantrum baffled Capello who took a vile dig at him and rev...

Is Manchester City star Bernardo SIlva a covert racist?

Manchester City Bernando Silva has gotten himself into a messy situation by using racist jokes on his friend and teammate Benjamin Mendy.  Silva compared Mendy to the mascot of Spanish confectionery brand, Conguitos and later posted a indiscriminately video about Mendy's skin.  The 26-year-old asked Mendy if he was wearing clothes despite knowing he is fully dressed in all blacks. In other worlds, Silva was using his skin colour as joke.  But that is joke taking too far and most people see it as insult, a racial stereotype that FIFA along with UEFA and other organizing body are trying to shove out of football.  Racist have created an unwanted storm in football already this season with Italy been the centered of the storm. Romelu Lukaku along with some players of Africa descent have been subjected to monkey chants and discriminatory slurs.  Even in England who claim to have the best league in the world have also witnessed incidents of racism. Superst...

Is Jurgen Klopp really better than Manchester City super coach Pep Guardiola?

J urgen Klopp metallic style of playing football have finally gotten the approval its craves from the world governing body -FIFA.  The German tactician used that Gegen pressing/long balls to win Liverpool their sixth Champions League along with the UEFA Super Cup against Chelsea.  And in the Premier League, Liverpool have lost just twice in 52 premier league matches and are still unbeaten at home since 2017.  Added to that Liverpool this season are the only team in Europe's top five division to win 6 of their opening six matches in a row.  No doubt Klopp is a fantastic manager but beating Pep Guardiola to the FIFA World Best Coach feels strange and questionable.  Why? Guardiola is the first and only manager to win the Premier League title with 100 points and 98 points respectively. Don't forget, Liverpool haven't won the league title in 30 years and have failed three consecutive times under Jurgen Klopp. Guardiola meanwhile has wrapped up the league tit...

Will Liverpool crumble if Virgil van Dijk is ruled out for the rest of the season?

Virgil van Dijk is a world class defender, a leader and above all a professional player who knows ever detail of his job and how to do it. He posses the aerial prowess to trouble any defense in the world, the incisive passes to build the game from the back and the vocal communication to speak to any player/defender and keep him check.  What really makes him special which Jurgen Klopp can attest is his desire to improve and help others improve as well.  The 27-year-old Dutch international have made Liverpool a world class team and today their European champions.  But the question remains, what will happen if Van Dijk is ruled out for the rest of the season? Will Liverpool's defense crumble or remain strong?  Jurgen Klopp was asked that very question during his press conference on Friday and he had this to say: 'I have 4 world class defenders who can play very well. If Van Dijk is injured; Joe Gomez, Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip can equally do the same job'....
