Manchester United fans react angrily to Ashley Young's one year contract extension

Manchester United captain Ashley Young will not be joining Inter Milan next summer neither will he be signing a pre-contract agreement with other clubs having be given a one-year contract extension.  Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a huge fan of the 34-year-old and feels his presence at the club will be useful to the younger players in the team.  Although, the decision to keep him at the club haven't gone down well with fan who vented angrily on different social medias.  Some of the tweet reads; "How the might have fallen.. "  Another aggrieved post reads: "The more Man U fans want to escape the more the owners give them pain".  Another reads: "This Ole and Co. are really taking us for granted. You can't be renewing Ashley's contract while there are real loopholes to cover.. it's getting out of hand".  Sad ones goes this way: "Why, just why would you do that? He is part of the dead wood that they need clearing out "This

Why Tottenham's decision to sack Mauricio Pochettino don't make sense

Image
How do you replace a manager like that? Muaricio Pochettino was arguably the best manager in the world last season having lead Tottenham Hotspur to the final of the Champions League without signing a single player in 18 months despite having numerous injury problems and also playing most of last season at Wembley.

To reach the club first ever Champions League final was memorable and will take years for another manager to replicate that achievement.

This season might not have started as Spurs have planned. They've won just 3 times, drawn 5 and lost 4 and now sit 14 points off 4 placed Manchester City.

Yes! the Champions League gap is wide but a manager of such quality can turn things around in an instant once the club gives him the backing he wants, sign very good players and retain the service of players who have consistently proven they're good enough to stay.

It will difficult finding another top class manager who let the president Deny Levy make all the decision involving transfer without the manager's consent.

World class coaches like Jurgen Klopp, Thomas Tuchel, Jose Mourinho or Pep Guardiola will never let the president make all the decision without involving them.. They will simply resign..

Pochettino was just different, he was brilliant enough to work with any player and yet get the best out of them.

He will leave Spurs as a legend, a man who delivered unforgettable memories, and pushed the boundaries of limitations. He is the reason Tottenham Hotspur is one of the biggest club in the world.

Klopp reveals why Liverpool can win the FIFA Club World Cup and the Caraboa Cup

Determined to prove his squad is the best in the world, Jurgen Klopp has called on each and everyone of his players to brace up for the challenge.  The Reds will play Aston Villa in the League Cup quarter final and the following day will play FIFA Club World Cup the following day.  Confident of winning both ties, Klopp said: "We had to do it like this. I think it's a really nice opportunity for the younger players", he told reporters.  "I know everyone thinks no chance but football is a wonderful. I would love to be part of that game to be honest.  "I hope they enjoy it, whatever happens. No pressure".  Speaking about Aston Villa's game, Klopp added: "It is a really nice opportunity for the younger players if you grow above yourself, you can make the next step, i would love to be part of that game.  "I hope all the staff enjoy it. It is a wonderful stadium for them, great atmosphere. They can make a step".  Liverpool will

The sad reason why Liverpool can't win the Caraboa Cup?

Liverpool are competing in five fronts this season {the World Club Cup, the Champions League, the Premier League, the FA Cup and the Caraboa Cup} and every fan will be dreaming of seeing them win it all. But achieving that fate will be hard knowing that Jurgen Klopp's team is thin at the moment and lacks the fire power to push in all front. Apart from Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane there's nobody else in the team that can guarantee Liverpool 20 goals in all competition this season.  Divorck Origi though is an exception but the 25-year-old Belgium international is more of an impact substitute rather than a game change.  With that in mine would it be smart to risk Salah, Firmino and Mane- who is already suffering from a dead leg and knock- in the Caraboa?  Is the Caraboa Cup so important that Jurgen Klopp will be willing to risk the world best trio in a $2m worth cup.  If no, then there's no point prioritize the match knowing that Liverpool&

Breaking: Two Liverpool defender to miss Champions League clash with Genk

Trent Alexander- Arnold will miss Liverpool's trip to Switzerland after picking up a knock during training.  The Guinness World holder for the most assist by a defender in a single league campaign will now be replaced by James Milner or Joe Gomez. Why?  Liverpool do not have a like for like replacement for the full backs neither do they've for the wingers. Andy Robertson, Alexander Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane do not have quality replacement.. But rather makeshift players who can put in a shift and get the result until their back.  Another news coming in from Melwood is that Joel Matip have missed today's training season and could also miss the trip to Switzerland.  Matip is reportedly suffering from cramps and could miss the clash..  In his absence, Klopp will certainly call on Dejan Lovren who played very well against Leicester City in which Liverpool went on to win 2-1.  Liverpool have played two Champions League matches, losing one to Napoli (2-0) a

Steven Gerrard: Liverpool duo Arnold and Robertson are world best full backs

Liverpool's greatest player Steven Gerrard has lauded praises on Trent Alexander Arnold and Andrew Robertson who have contributed immensely to Jurgen Klopp's team.  Arnold and Robertson are not just attacking fullbacks, they're the creative heart of the team. They take the corner kicks, swing in the crosses, take free-kicks and even score goals.  This season, they've both contributed 8 assists in 12 Premier League to help Liverpool maintain an unbeaten start to the season.  Speaking exclusively on their strength and phenomenal contribution to the team, Steven Gerrard said:  “What we have in Trent and Robbo now, straight away, you would put them in the world-class bracket,” Gerrard told the Liverpool Echo. “They are up there with the best players in their position, worldwide. So there's no point saying how good could they be because they are already there. The thing for Trent now is can he maintain that consistency for as long as he can? Because he can go o

Chelsea vs Liverpool: where the game will be lost and won

The blockbuster encounter between Chelsea vs Liverpool will see two of Europe's finest teams pelt their wits and tricks against each other. Frank Lampard youthful side will be hoping to become the first team in 15 attempts to Liverpool's juggernaut from taking all three points in the Premier League. But achieving that fate won't be easy and Lampard knows it.  Lampard and his coaching team know they have to stop Liverpool's world class attacking trio of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane from scoring.  Those three have scored 16 of the 21 goals Liverpool have scored in their opening 5 matches of this season. If Chelsea can stop those three from scoring, their chances of winning the game jumps from 35% to 75%.  Secondly, Lampard also knows Liverpool's midfield is made up of three aggressive tacklers and incessant runners who will press Jorginho, Ross Barkley or N'Golo Kante {if that's possible} to win the ball back and launch a quick counte

Reds legend John Aldridge slams Man City: They behave like spoilt kids when they lose

Liverpool legend John Aldridge has slammed Manchester City coaches and players who were all lived during and after the match.  Guardiola already has two memes of him sticking his two fingers out and protesting a disallowed penalty call and a handshake to Micheal Oliver saying 'thank you very much'- although connoted with a sarcastic undertone.  Aldridge didn't like the way City players reacted especially Kyle Walker and Raheem Sterling who took the fight to the English training camp.  Expressing his disappointment with the City players and coaching staff, Aldridge said:  "Pep Guardiola certainly showed his petulant side with his antics on the touchline and after the match", Aldridge told reporters.  "I think Manchester City are so used to getting their own way most of the time that they don't know how to react when things go against them and they behaved like spoilt kids really. I understand their frustrations on the touchline because I've

Pre-contract agreed! Christian Eriksen heading to Manchester United

Tottenham star Christian Ericksen could be heading to Manchester United this summer reports The Telegraph. Ericksen's contract ends in six months time and he has no intention of extending it.  Next month, he will be given the option to sign a pre-contract agreement with any club of his choice be it Real Madrid, PSG, Juventus or even Manchester United.  But again, Spurs Chairman Daniel Levy will be reaching out to clubs in China or the Middle East to sign Ericksen knowing that meet his askign price { £40m } and even pay more for his service.  As far as know, Ericksen has no interest in going outside of Europe, he wants to win big trophies having spent 6 years at Spurs with just a single cup to show for it- the Caraboa Cup.

He is coming to Old Trafford! Arturo Vidal set to join Manchester United

Manchester United are reportedly in the race to sign Barcelona superstar Arturo Vidal.  According to Italian paper, Corriere della Sera, the midfielder's agent Fernando Felicevich is currently in Europe to discuss with various clubs who are interested in signing Vidal. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer remains a huge fan of the combative midfielder who will certainly add steel and bite to United's porous and lackadaisical midfielder.  Signing the 32-year-old won't be cheap though, he will cost United £17m despite having a year and six months left to run in his contract.  Asked about Barcelona and his lack of game time, he said: "It is not me who makes the decision on if i play or not, that is down to the coach", he told reporters.  "But the people will see int he end and i am calm because i just want to keep malign the most of the opportunities given to me and to carry on aiming to win titles and lift trophies in the future".  Vidal is the first and only playe

Is Manchester United 1999 team better than Manchester City'S 2019 team?

Premier League's most decorated player Ryan Giggs is overly convinced that he played for a Manchester United team that can compete with Pep Guardiola's incredible Manchester City team.  Giggs feels the 1999 Manchester United that won the Champions League, the Premier League and the Carling Cup {now called the Caraboa Cup} can rival City. He even went as far as saying United of the past can challenge City to the Premier League. Pep Guardiola made history by becoming the first and  nly manager in Premier League history to win the Premier League title with 100 points and the following season retained it with 98 points.  Sir Alex Ferguson meanwhile have never won the league with more than 92 points. His highest point tally was in 91 points back in 2008.  Comparing both teams don't match up. The present Manchester City team is far stronger and more equipped to compete for domestic titles than United were in the past.  Added to that, City are the first team in Premier Le

Can Liverpool star Andy Robertson stop Raheem Sterling?

Rahem Sterling's decision to swap Liverpool for Manchester City is finally paying off. He has won 6 trophies including back to back Premier League titles.  His form, fitness and general play has improved remarkably well under the tutelage of Pep Guardiola. And today, he is rated as the second most valuable player after PSG Kylian Mbappe. No disrespect to Gabriel Jesus or Sergio Aguero {both players have never scored at Anfield}, Sterling is the real threat Liverpool will face when City visit Anfield.  Why? Sterling is bullet fast, fantastic in getting past player with a 1-2 step overs and terrific in a on one situation.. The 24-year-old England international now scores an average of goal a game and looks likely to hit 50 goals this season. He has already scored 8 goals in 11 Premier League matches, 17 goals in just 17 games this season.  Stopping him won't be easy, Andy Robertson will have to double up his effort and ensure he doesn't get a foot wrong..
