Manchester United fans react angrily to Ashley Young's one year contract extension

Manchester United captain Ashley Young will not be joining Inter Milan next summer neither will he be signing a pre-contract agreement with other clubs having be given a one-year contract extension.  Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a huge fan of the 34-year-old and feels his presence at the club will be useful to the younger players in the team.  Although, the decision to keep him at the club haven't gone down well with fan who vented angrily on different social medias.  Some of the tweet reads; "How the might have fallen.. "  Another aggrieved post reads: "The more Man U fans want to escape the more the owners give them pain".  Another reads: "This Ole and Co. are really taking us for granted. You can't be renewing Ashley's contract while there are real loopholes to cover.. it's getting out of hand".  Sad ones goes this way: "Why, just why would you do that? He is part of the dead wood that they need clearing out "This ...

Why Real Madrid star Eden Hazard must prove himself against PSG

Image
Real Madrid will kick off their Champions League campaign against PSG on Wednesday night and the rest of world will be expecting to see a mind blowing game.

One man everybody will be watching is Madrid's $150m acquisition Eden Hazard who will be expected to take the game by the scruff of the net and single handily win the game like his predecessor Cristiano Ronaldo did in the past.

Ronaldo is the greatest goalscorer the world have ever seen, a role model kids around the world should emulate. He always preaches: 'Talent alone won't take you anyway but, hard work and commitment are the key ingredients to the success'.

Without doubt, Hazard possess similar qualities to Ronaldo, maybe not in physique and aerial prowess but when it comes to pace, dribbling skills, stamina and goals, Hazard is just as good as Ronaldo.

On Wednesday night, Hazard will have to prove himself to the watching world that he is not of waste of money but rather a foundation in which Madrid can build their next Galaticos.

Madrid's aim this season is simple, they want to wrestle the Champions League off Liverpool and win it for a club record 14th time. But doing that won't be easy, they need all their players to be fit and motivated.

PSG might look powerful on paper but the reality is that the Ligue 1 champions are average without their sensational front three- Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Edinson Cavani who unfortunately will miss Madrid clash due to injuries and suspension.

Without those front three, PSG is weak which is an added advantage to Eden Hazard who has to showcase his undisputed talent to the watching world. Let's hope he those.

Jermaine Pennant reveals what will cost Liverpool the Premier League title

Jermaine Pennant has revealed what he thinks will be Liverpool's biggest problem en-route to winning the Premier League.  Pennant admits they've a talented squad with lots of experience who have gone the distance to win the Premier League title only to be pipped by Liverpool. He feels Liverpool's only Achilles heel will be injuries to their key players.  Injuries to superstars like Fabinho, Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Van Dijk could instantly derail their progress.  "The team has all it takes to go unbeaten and win the Premier League title", Pennant told 888 Sports.  "But you feel the team can also be stopped when the top players in the team get injured. Liverpool have four or five players that make the difference and once they're not there you kind of see a drop in standard".  Liverpool play Brighton next at Anfield and will be hoping to continue to march to the Premier League title.

Ballon d'Or is bullshit: Messi shouldn't have won it ahead of Van Dijk and Ronaldo

Another year, another catastrophic decision made by the Ballon d'Or organisers who gave the once prestigious trophy to a player who don't deserve to win it.  Its really embarrassing to know that Lionel Messi won the award ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo and Virgil van Dijk who both outperformed him with both club and country.  Cristiano Ronaldo was arguably the best of trio having won trophies with both club and country. The 34-year-old captained Portugal to the inaugural Nation's League against Holland and lifted two domestic trophies with Juventus.  Added to that, the Seria A Player needs just 6 goals to become the highest goalscorer in International football and yet, Lionel Messi who only lifted the La Liga title with Barcelona beat him to the Ballon d'or? It doesn't make sense..  No disrespect to Messi he is an incredible player, he scored 46 goals with 17 assists in a season that saw Barcelona heavily rely on him for inspiration and goals.  He single-...

Yaya Toure reveals what Manchester City must do in January to stop Liverpool's title run

Yaya Toure has called on Pep Guardiola to sign a defender this January and stop playing the likes of Rodrigo and Fernandinho in the back.  Rodrigo and Fernandinho are better suited in the holding midfield role and not the centre backs. City have now lost three games in just 12 games played this season and sit 4th in the Premier League table, 9 points off Liverpool..  Another defeat and they can kiss their chances of winning a third consecutive Premier League title goodbye.  Yaya Toure was asked what he thinks about City and he had this to say: "I think it might be hard {to win the Premier League title again} but in January you have to get a defender", Toure told Sky Sports.  "It's not too late, nothing is too late. When i watch the game i don't want to blame nobody, i don't want to blame Rodrigo, he's a young player and a good player, but i think if Fernandinho was in the middle it would be really important.  "City miss him in there, he ...

De Bruyne reveals Manchester City most underrated player

Kevin de Bruyne has lauded praises on Fernandinho who he says is the club's most underrated player.  Fernandinho impact at City have been huge, he is arguably the club's best defensive midfielder and the one of the top 3 defensive midfielders in world football.  But as he ages, Pep Guardiola decided it was time he switched from a more defensive role into a full blow centre-back which has impressed De Bruyne.  Asked about his vice-captain, De Bruyne said: "Dinho can play everywhere. Since i came here he's been really under-rated", he told Sky Sports.  "For me he was one of the best defensive midfielders in the world, and now he just comes in as central defender and does what he does.  "Props to him, because obviously he is 35 and it's not easy to play a new position, especially when you've never done it in the 14 years before that".  Fernandinho is on course to sign a one year contract with Manchester City.

Guardiola reveals what Manchester City must do against 'wounded Southampton'

Pep Guardiola is expecting to see a complete revival from Southampton who were brutally beaten by Leicester City on Friday.  Southampton suffered a 9-0 defeat at Saint Mary which is the biggest loss by a home team in the competition's history. City have already scored eight goals in a game this season- and themselves scored nine in the Caraboa Cup last season against Burton Albion in the semi-final first leg at the Etihad Stadium.  Guardiola knows its will be unwise to underestimate Ralph Hasenhutti's men who are the moment are looking for the perfect opportunity to make their incredible fans proud.  "It's not easy of course but at the same time i think they are incredible professionals', Guardiola said during his press conference.  "The manager will be sad for one night, one moment, but after that they have to move forward. The players are professionals and will do their best. I am not going to judge Southampton or prepare for the games on that resul...

Alway injured; Is Liverpool's £52m star Naby Keita becoming the 'new Daniel Sturridge'

Before Naby Keita joined Liverpool, most fans thought he was going to turn out to be the next Xabi Alonso who will offer the creativity currently lacking in Liverpool's dynamic midfield.  Oxlade Chamberlian, Jordan Henderson, Gini Wijnaldum, James Milner and Fabinho are all industrious and strong in tackling but, none of the above can orchestrate the ebb of flow from the midfield like Xabi Alonso once did; pass intricately or incisively in midfield and attack neither can they find runners in behind the defense.. {Fabinho though tries to do that}.  Keita can do all that and even more. He is very fast, strong and can dribble past players while driving forward to goal. He is more of a box to box midfielder,  'Yaya Toure' esque minus dribbling' than Xabi Alonso 'who was a world class deep playing midfielder'. Probably that is why Liverpool paid RB Leipzig £52m for his service.  But something is not right about the Guinea international.  He is...

Europe League beckons: Why Jurgen Klopp is very worried about Salzburg

The reigning European champions are on the verge of exiting the competitions in the round of 16.  Liverpool could become the second team in 10 years to exit the Champions League in the group stage since AC Milan. But to prevent that from happening Jurgen Klopp's men must beat Salzburg at Red Bull Arena which frankly is no easy feat.  Salzburg is no push over and Klopp know this. He watched as Jesse Marsch men came back from a 3-0 defeat in the first half to draw 3-3 in the second half. It took a moment of pure genius from Mohamed Salah to find the winning goal and salvage respect from the home side.  Now, Austria team have an opportunity to create history, they've the chance to dump Liverpool out of the Champions League by beating them at home and progressing to the round of 16.  It won't be easy though but why would you doubt them knowing that Liverpool's defence is very weak and porous.  This season, the Reds have played 9 games at Anfield...

Liverpool 2-1 Crystal: Firmino is no average striker and 5 things we learnt

Another game, another victory, Liverpool have finally discovered how to grind out results even when playing way below average.  Palace were good to watch, they stopped Liverpool's swashbuckling football in the first 15 minutes of play and put them to the sword by scoring the first goal only for VAR {Video Assistant Referee} to choke it off.  The first half might have ended in stalemate but the second half saw Liverpool take the initiative through Sadio Mane whose snap shot evaded everyone and found the back of the net.  Wilfred Zaha did restore parity to keep Palace fans believing but in the dying minute, Firmino scored the winning goal to put Liverpool 2-1 up and eight points clear of Leicester City.  Here are the five things we learnt:  1. Van DIjk is a monster, he is a world class defender-  Where will Liverpool be without Van Dijk? Porbably in 7th place or most likely 10th. He won every aerial ball, tussled with Jordan Ayew and came out on ...

The sad reason why Liverpool can't win the Caraboa Cup?

Liverpool are competing in five fronts this season {the World Club Cup, the Champions League, the Premier League, the FA Cup and the Caraboa Cup} and every fan will be dreaming of seeing them win it all. But achieving that fate will be hard knowing that Jurgen Klopp's team is thin at the moment and lacks the fire power to push in all front. Apart from Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane there's nobody else in the team that can guarantee Liverpool 20 goals in all competition this season.  Divorck Origi though is an exception but the 25-year-old Belgium international is more of an impact substitute rather than a game change.  With that in mine would it be smart to risk Salah, Firmino and Mane- who is already suffering from a dead leg and knock- in the Caraboa?  Is the Caraboa Cup so important that Jurgen Klopp will be willing to risk the world best trio in a $2m worth cup.  If no, then there's no point prioritize the match knowing that Liv...

Former coach warns Erling Haaland not to join Bayern Munich or Liverpool

Europe's hottest scoring sensation Erling Braut Haaland has been warned by his former coach not to make a big-money move to Liverpool and Bayern Munich who are already circling the 19-year-old.  Haaland has scored 26 times in just 18 games and showed his class by coming off the bench at Anfield and scoring a goal in Salzburg's 4-3 defeat to Liverpool.  His former manager at Bryne FK though recognizes his immerse talent but warns him not to move to Liverpool who already have Roberto Firmino or Bayern Munich who have arguably the world best striker Robert Lewandowski..  Sitting on the bench will hinder his progress, he needs to play games.  "The tactical requirements at Bayern and Liverpool would be a bit too high for {him} now", Alf Ingve Bernsten told Goal.com.  "After all, he has only played in Norway and Austria so far. And also there for a short time. Joining Bayern would be difficult for him at the moment. Because, of course, he is still far from ...
