Manchester United captain Ashley Young will not be joining Inter Milan next summer neither will he be signing a pre-contract agreement with other clubs having be given a one-year contract extension. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a huge fan of the 34-year-old and feels his presence at the club will be useful to the younger players in the team. Although, the decision to keep him at the club haven't gone down well with fan who vented angrily on different social medias. Some of the tweet reads; "How the might have fallen.. " Another aggrieved post reads: "The more Man U fans want to escape the more the owners give them pain". Another reads: "This Ole and Co. are really taking us for granted. You can't be renewing Ashley's contract while there are real loopholes to cover.. it's getting out of hand". Sad ones goes this way: "Why, just why would you do that? He is part of the dead wood that they need clearing out "This ...
The gaffer had to withdraw his captain Jordan Henderson whose side ways and backward passing killed of the momentum attack as well as Gini Wijnaldum who struggled to impose himself on the game.
He replaced Henderson with James Milner to provide the steel and combativeness in midfield and Divock Origi to provide more firepower upfront. The substitution did work as Liverpool were able to score in 69th minute thanks to Mohamed Salah's well taken strike.
But Klopp has revealed he wants three things to change in the team:
1. The defense must be alert at all times-
Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk didn't click at all and saw Liverpool concede three avoidable goals. Although the first goal was sensational but the remaining two could've been cleared if Joel Matip played.
Trent Alexander Arnold was good going forward but defensively he was poor. The only defender who played really well was Andy Robertson. The defensive must be alert cause against better opposition, they would've beaten Liverpool.
2. The midfield trio must stop leaving spaces for runners to exploit-
Jordan Henderson and Gini Wijnaldum didn't play to rhythm of the game and really struggled to catch up Salzburg's pacy forwards. The spaces between both stars were too large and therefore enabled Salzburg launch counter attacks.
Fabinho did try to make the last ditch tackles but the opposition was just too fast for him allow to deal with them. Klopp wants that to change from now on.
3. Fabinho must learn to take his chance-
Firmino might be the only player to score 10 goals and 10 assists in the Champions League but he must remember first and foremost that he is a striker.
He's job is to score goals and when chances present itself he has to shoot and score and not look for Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah all the time.
Against Salzburg, he really struggled to shoot, only limiting his incredible talent to a link up striker which frankly is not enough.
