Manchester United fans react angrily to Ashley Young's one year contract extension

Manchester United captain Ashley Young will not be joining Inter Milan next summer neither will he be signing a pre-contract agreement with other clubs having be given a one-year contract extension.  Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a huge fan of the 34-year-old and feels his presence at the club will be useful to the younger players in the team.  Although, the decision to keep him at the club haven't gone down well with fan who vented angrily on different social medias.  Some of the tweet reads; "How the might have fallen.. "  Another aggrieved post reads: "The more Man U fans want to escape the more the owners give them pain".  Another reads: "This Ole and Co. are really taking us for granted. You can't be renewing Ashley's contract while there are real loopholes to cover.. it's getting out of hand".  Sad ones goes this way: "Why, just why would you do that? He is part of the dead wood that they need clearing out "This ...

Murphy: Sadio Mane will be fired up to play Manchester City and Guardiola

Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy feels Pep Guardiola has made a big mistake by insinuating Sadio Mane is a 'diver'.

Mane is the Premier League's most improved player and he is the reason Liverpool are six points clear of the chasing pack. Winding him up right before Manchester City go to Anfield where they've failed to win in over 16 years don't make sense.

Murphy thinks Guardiola never planned to reveal what he thinks about the Senegalese and now forced to regret that statement.

"I don't think Pep went to { the press conference} with that in his head, i think he was just triggered by a question about the result at Villa Park and it's just come out", Murphy told talkSPORT.

"In hindsight he might look back on that and think, 'i wish i hadn't said that'. If i was him, the last thing i'd want to do is wind up the best player in the Premier League at the moment and before you play him next week".

Sadio Mane is the Premier League's highest goal scoring Senegalese with 89 goals and the second fastest player to score a hat trick in just 4 minutes 42 seconds while playing for Southampton.

"Mane is playing  incredibly well and if it does spur him on a little bit more, then why take the risk? I think we should emphasize that Mane's form from the start of the season until now is the reason why Liverpool are six point clear."

Mane is the only player who have never lost a game in Anfield.. In fact, he has never lost or drawn a match at Anfield in which he has scored. It just win, win and win!!!

"In certain games he's carried them through. He's been phenomenal. And his fitness and his durability, by the way, considering he played the whole summer and he rarely misses a game. He deserves great credit.

"Of course, he goes down a bit too easily and too regularly, but he's not the only one".

Liverpool will play Manchester City next at Anfield and Mane will be in contention to start.

Manchester United 1- 1 Liverpool: Marcus Rashford is a beast and 5 things we learnt

For a while it felt like Manchester United were superior to Liverpool as their moved the ball much quicker, created good chances and opened the scoring through a magnificent ball to Marcus Rashford.  Rashford for one was just unstoppable, his energy, swagger and relentless running scared the death out of Liverpool's defense including Van Dijk who struggled all game to contain him.  He did score the goal that would've been the match winner but one area of judge from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer changed everything.  Taking off Rashford allowed Liverpool's defense to push forward and pile pressure on United's brittle back line.. It allowed Andrew Robertson cross a delicious ball into the 12-yard box which evaded everyone except Adam Lallana who needed just a tap in to score and restore parity.  Although, Liverpool did have the lion share of possession but without their star man, Mohamed Salah to stretch United defense, they really struggled to create chances....

Mane, Salah, Alisson or Van Dijk: Which Liverpool player deserve to win the Ballon d'Or?

For the first time in history, seven Liverpool players have made the shortlist of the Ballon d'Or.  Alisson Becker, Van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Trent Alexander Arnold and Gini Wijnaldum have all made the list but the list don't feel right.  They're Liverpool players that really deserve to be that list. The likes of Andrew Robertson who is currently the best left back in the world contributed 11 assists with 2 goals last season en-route to Liverpool winning the Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup should've been included.  Joel Matip also deserve to be included. His the best 'right centre back' in the world and the only defender capable of dribbling past defenders while marauding forward.  There's no other defender in world football who can take the ball from the back, skip past two or three defenders before lying out a pass or shooting accurately to goal. Matip is the only defender who posses that trait and that is enoug...

Fabinho could miss Manchester City clash: So should Liverpool rest him against Aston Villa?

Fabinho might have struggled for 5-6 months to make Liverpool's first team when he first arrived but now, he is one of those names Jurgen Klopp never omits in the first team..  He plays every game nowadays and makes key contributions to the team's game plan. His tackles, interceptions and dynamism remains one of the key reasons Liverpool are yet to lose a Premier League game this season.  But, the Brazilian tackles haven't been always good and have resulted to four yellow cards. If he picks up another against Aston Villa he will miss Liverpool's title deciding clash against Manchester City at Anfield.  No disrespect to Aston Villa, they're a good team but Liverpool don't really need Fabinho in the team to win.. Its going to tough no doubt about that, but the likes of Jordan Henderson and James Milner can play in his position and Liverpool will still win.  So should Liverpool play him or rest for the penultimate clash with Manchester City?
