Manchester United fans react angrily to Ashley Young's one year contract extension

Manchester United captain Ashley Young will not be joining Inter Milan next summer neither will he be signing a pre-contract agreement with other clubs having be given a one-year contract extension.  Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a huge fan of the 34-year-old and feels his presence at the club will be useful to the younger players in the team.  Although, the decision to keep him at the club haven't gone down well with fan who vented angrily on different social medias.  Some of the tweet reads; "How the might have fallen.. "  Another aggrieved post reads: "The more Man U fans want to escape the more the owners give them pain".  Another reads: "This Ole and Co. are really taking us for granted. You can't be renewing Ashley's contract while there are real loopholes to cover.. it's getting out of hand".  Sad ones goes this way: "Why, just why would you do that? He is part of the dead wood that they need clearing out "This ...

Manchester United 1- 1 Liverpool: Marcus Rashford is a beast and 5 things we learnt

Image
For a while it felt like Manchester United were superior to Liverpool as their moved the ball much quicker, created good chances and opened the scoring through a magnificent ball to Marcus Rashford.

Rashford for one was just unstoppable, his energy, swagger and relentless running scared the death out of Liverpool's defense including Van Dijk who struggled all game to contain him.

He did score the goal that would've been the match winner but one area of judge from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer changed everything.

Taking off Rashford allowed Liverpool's defense to push forward and pile pressure on United's brittle back line.. It allowed Andrew Robertson cross a delicious ball into the 12-yard box which evaded everyone except Adam Lallana who needed just a tap in to score and restore parity.

Although, Liverpool did have the lion share of possession but without their star man, Mohamed Salah to stretch United defense, they really struggled to create chances.

Here are the five things we learnt:
Image
1. Marcus Rashford is a beast-

The striker single handily tore Liverpool's defense into shred with his pace and movement. He made the world best defender 'Van Dijk' crawl and later pushed him aside to create a golden chance for his teammate to almost score. Rashford was arguably the best player in the pitch and he summed his adventure by saying:

"We deserved the three points", he told Sky Sports. "I don't they they 'Liverpool' were good enough to get a draw out of the game or a win but this is football.

"It was a big opportunity missed and we just fell short. Hopefully in midweek, we can get a win and it will start a run for us".

2. Liverpool really missed Mohamed Salah-

Divock Origi might have filled in for Mohamed Salah but had the Egyptian started, Liverpool would've beaten Manchester United. The Egyptian doesn't just offer goals, his direct play and frightening pace would've opened up spaces for the likes of Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino to chances to shoot and score.

Salah is a focal point of attack and when he gets the ball there's always a 75% chance he will score. Origi did well but you everyone knows, the Belgium international works best as a striker than a winger.

3. Manchester United can finish in the top 4 if they can keep us this performance-

Against Liverpool it was difficult to understand why Manchester United are struggling to win games. The played like a team and made Liverpool look average in most part of the match.. If they can keep up this performance for the rest of the season they will finish in the top 4.

4. Adam Lallana and Oxlade Chamberlian where terrific to watch-

Liverpool's goalscorer Adam Lallana played brilliantly and proved once again why no should write him off. 2017 might be the last time he scored a Premier League goal having suffered from injuries and subsequent lack of form. But today's goal will come as a big relief to him and entire Liverpool squad.

5. Jurgen Klopp needs to rest/drop Jordan Henderson and play other midfielders-

James Henderson is not on form and his play is erratic. His passes are becoming wayward and his movement predictable. This is best time for the likes of Naby Keita and Oxlade Chamberlain to challenge him for a starting spot and make Jurgen Klopp have no other option than to bench him.

James Milner is without doubt better than Jordan Henderson but due to his age. he has to be managed.

1 win in 13 games! Can Liverpool really beat Manchester United at Old Trafford?

Since 2009, Liverpool have succeeded in beating Manchester Untied just once in 11 meetings.. The Red devils have won 9 games, drawn 3 and lost once back in 2009.  Head to head, Manchester United have the better advantage against Liverpool having scored 26 goals as agaisnt Liverpool's 8 at Old Trafford. They've kept more clean sheets {5}, came back from a losing position {4} and scored more than 3 or more goals {4}.  Statistically, Manchester Untied have a better chance of beating Liverpool at the moment than the reverse.  Why? United have everything riding on this game. They've to win to save Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's job and secondly must win not to drop into the relegation zone.  A win for United is a must or its going to end catastrophic for Solskjaer and his troops.  Liverpool meanwhile can leave with a defeat or draw but Klopp would want more. He will want his team to keep the momentum going and equal Manchester City's 18 match winning s...

Scholes: Liverpool have done something Manchester United have never done

Manchester United legend Paul Scoles has lavished praises on Liverpool who is said have already wrapped up the Premier League title.  Scholes can't see anybody catching Liverpool this season who are 13 points off Leicester City and 14 points off reigning champions Manchester City.  The scary part of Liverpool's is that they could move 16 points clear of second place Leicester City if they beat West Ham in their outstanding match.  "I don't think we'd {Manchester United} ever won it by Christmas", Scholes told Premier League Productions.  "This team- look it's game over, there's nobody {who is going to catch them}. I think the question now is how many points they going to win it by, i think they're so good.  "City have a team if any team could get anywhere near them but i don't expect that to happen. I just think Liverpool are too good. I think the biggest fight we've got now this season is probably the relegation fight ...

The sad reason why Liverpool can't win the Caraboa Cup?

Liverpool are competing in five fronts this season {the World Club Cup, the Champions League, the Premier League, the FA Cup and the Caraboa Cup} and every fan will be dreaming of seeing them win it all. But achieving that fate will be hard knowing that Jurgen Klopp's team is thin at the moment and lacks the fire power to push in all front. Apart from Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane there's nobody else in the team that can guarantee Liverpool 20 goals in all competition this season.  Divorck Origi though is an exception but the 25-year-old Belgium international is more of an impact substitute rather than a game change.  With that in mine would it be smart to risk Salah, Firmino and Mane- who is already suffering from a dead leg and knock- in the Caraboa?  Is the Caraboa Cup so important that Jurgen Klopp will be willing to risk the world best trio in a $2m worth cup.  If no, then there's no point prioritize the match knowing that Liv...

Chris Walder warns Liverpool: Sheffield United won't lose at Anfield

Chris Wilder has lauded praises on Liverpool and their iconic stadium 'Anfield' but warns, that his team aren't coming to Merseyside to lose like others.  Liverpool haven't lost a game in 52 matches neither have they lost a match at Anfield since April 2017. This season, they've won 17 games and drawn just once to Manchester United.. Powerful!  But, Sheffield United also boast a remarkable record. They've suffered just one away defeat to Manchester City which many believe was enabled by referee Chris Kavanagh.  Wilder believe Liverpool will be tough but his team can give them a fight.  "Going to Anfield, iconic stadium, fabulous experience, everything that Liverpool bring to the English game", Walder said during his press conference.  "They are the most powerful, historic of clubs in our game and going so well.  "But we'd like to put a little bump in their road, as we tried to do at Manchester City".

3 reasons why Manchester United must not sack Ole Gunnar Solskajear

Since Alex Ferguson bowed out of Manchester United in 2012, the club have hired and fired 4 managers and fired 3 who failed to replicate Fergie's winning formula.  Ole Gunnar Solskajear is the next manager in the firing line haven seen United struggle so early in the season. The Red devils have won just two matches all season and sit 10 points off league leaders Liverpool who looks destined to win their first Premier League title this season.  The sight of watching Liverpool win consecutive games while United struggle to beat the likes of Crystal Palace and West Ham is embarrassing.. But Solskajear has a solution and soon the fans will see a sudden change.  Here are the five reasons why Manchester United should not sack Solskajear 1.  Manchester United are currently rebuilding their team and will need time to deliver-  United are currently getting it right with their recruitment strategy but for this to work fans have to be patient. Manchest...

Everton sacks Marco Silva after Liverpool's 5-2 derby humiliation

Its all over, Everton have sack Marco Silva who have struggled to pass his message across his team this season and fallen short of the club's lofty expectations.  Silva's team have managed to win just 4 Premier League matches this season, losing nine and drawing 3.  That horrible form coupled with the 5-2 drubbing by Liverpool meant a change had to be made and fast.  Marcel Brands, the director of football, and Alexander Ryazantsev, the club's CEO, were visibly seen angrily gesticulating in the Directors' Box at Anfield while infuriated fans were forced to leave early.  The club statement released on Thursday evening reads: "Everton Football Club can confirm that manager Marco Silva has left the club.  "Majority Shareholder Farhad Moshiri, Chairman Bill Kenwright and the Board of Directors wold like to thank Marco for his service over the last 18 months and wish him well for the future.  "Duncan Ferguson has taken temporary charge of the fir...

Was the FIFA World Best Player rigged to favour Lionel Messi? The truth is coming out!

Lionel Messi is the FIFA World Best Player for the sixth time in history but something is not right about the voting system.  Olympic team coach Shakwy Ghareeb and Egypt national captain Ahmed Elmohamady have both come out to say their votes weren't counted. Cause if it were, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah would've been sitting alongside Van Dijk and not just Messi. Samuel Eto'o echoed this thought during the ceremony as he questioned the rationale behind picking Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo whereas Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah were arguably the players that won the Champions League for Liverpool.  Mane's unbelievable display against Bayern Munich and Barcelona superseded everything Messi did last season. Mane didn't just win the Champions League with Liverpool.  He reached the Africa Cup of final with Senegal and twice weeks later, scored two decisive goals to win Liverpool the UEFA Super Cup. The 26-year-old was unbelievably good and that that is one ...

Van Nistelrooy is absolutely wrong! Lionel Messi don't deserve to win the Ballon d'Or

uud van Nistelrooy assertion that Lionel Messi deserves the Ballon d'Or ahead of other nominated players is absolutely wrong.  Lionel Messi is indeed a world class player, a dream player every team in the world will want to have but, last season wasn't his best campaign. He did score a respectable tally of goals -50 goals in 54 appearances- which is phenomenal but winning the Ballon d'Or takes more than that this days.  In the grandest of stage, Messi failed to light it up. He failed in Europe {the Champions League} and Brazil {the Copa America}. In both competition, Messi struggled to make any meaningful impact.  Barcelona were blown away by Liverpool at Anfield despite arriving the ground with a 3-0 win with Messi scoring one of the best free-kicks in the tournaments history. And with Argentina who finished 3rd in the Copa America, Messi found the net just once.  Dani Alves 34, was the player of the Tournament and not Messi who was...

Man City star Raheem Sterling or Sadio Mane: Who is world's best left forward?

On current form and performance, Liverpool star Sadio Mane and Manchester City star Raheem Sterling are world's finest left forwards in football..  Both stars are extremely fast, strong, skillful, creative and above all, very good in finding the back of the net.  They both average a ratio of 1 goal a game and created at least 4 to 5 chances each game.. But the question is which of the two is better.  Raheem Sterling:  Sterling have remained pivotal in what Pep Guardiola is planning to do at Manchester City. In his 4 year sting at City, the English man has won 7 trophies including back to back Premier League titles while scoring a staggering 89 goals in 132 appearances..  Rated as the second most expensive player after Kylian Mbappe, Sterling has taken his game to whole new level.. He is arguably the best player in the Premier League..  Sadio Mane Mane is a gem, an industrious player who works his stocks off for the team. What mak...
