Manchester United fans react angrily to Ashley Young's one year contract extension

Manchester United captain Ashley Young will not be joining Inter Milan next summer neither will he be signing a pre-contract agreement with other clubs having be given a one-year contract extension.  Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a huge fan of the 34-year-old and feels his presence at the club will be useful to the younger players in the team.  Although, the decision to keep him at the club haven't gone down well with fan who vented angrily on different social medias.  Some of the tweet reads; "How the might have fallen.. "  Another aggrieved post reads: "The more Man U fans want to escape the more the owners give them pain".  Another reads: "This Ole and Co. are really taking us for granted. You can't be renewing Ashley's contract while there are real loopholes to cover.. it's getting out of hand".  Sad ones goes this way: "Why, just why would you do that? He is part of the dead wood that they need clearing out "This

Van Nistelrooy is absolutely wrong! Lionel Messi don't deserve to win the Ballon d'Or

Image
uud van Nistelrooy assertion that Lionel Messi deserves the Ballon d'Or ahead of other nominated players is absolutely wrong.

Lionel Messi is indeed a world class player, a dream player every team in the world will want to have but, last season wasn't his best campaign. He did score a respectable tally of goals -50 goals in 54 appearances- which is phenomenal but winning the Ballon d'Or takes more than that this days.

In the grandest of stage, Messi failed to light it up. He failed in Europe {the Champions League} and Brazil {the Copa America}. In both competition, Messi struggled to make any meaningful impact.

Barcelona were blown away by Liverpool at Anfield despite arriving the ground with a 3-0 win with Messi scoring one of the best free-kicks in the tournaments history. And with Argentina who finished 3rd in the Copa America, Messi found the net just once.

Dani Alves 34, was the player of the Tournament and not Messi who was red carded against Chile and later, banned for two matches by Conmobol for saying the competition was rigged to favour Brazil.

Messi's reputation as a big game player always seems to hid one of his biggest weakness which is, he shrinks to mediocrity when donning the blue and white jersey of Argentina. Its seems like wherever he sees Argentina jersey his confidence flies out the window..

Against Brazil in the Copa America final, Messi was just to average to influence the game and many will be forgiven to think, that player that looked like Messi was a impostor or probably a clone.. He very very poor.

Last season wasn't his best year and Van Nistelrooy must learn to accept that other players did play remarkably well for their club and country.. Van Dijk, Sadio Mane, De Ligt, Kylian Mbappe and even his biggest rival Cristiano Ronaldo did exceptionally well.

Ronaldo was able to win the Seria A and the Coppa Italia with Juventus and the Nations League with Portugal.. Emphatic!.

Put it this way, Messi scored loads of goals for Barcelona but failed to win the trophies that really matter- the Champions League and the Copa America..

Is Manchester United 1999 team better than Manchester City'S 2019 team?

Premier League's most decorated player Ryan Giggs is overly convinced that he played for a Manchester United team that can compete with Pep Guardiola's incredible Manchester City team.  Giggs feels the 1999 Manchester United that won the Champions League, the Premier League and the Carling Cup {now called the Caraboa Cup} can rival City. He even went as far as saying United of the past can challenge City to the Premier League. Pep Guardiola made history by becoming the first and  nly manager in Premier League history to win the Premier League title with 100 points and the following season retained it with 98 points.  Sir Alex Ferguson meanwhile have never won the league with more than 92 points. His highest point tally was in 91 points back in 2008.  Comparing both teams don't match up. The present Manchester City team is far stronger and more equipped to compete for domestic titles than United were in the past.  Added to that, City are the first team in Premier Le

The sad reason why Liverpool can't win the Caraboa Cup?

Liverpool are competing in five fronts this season {the World Club Cup, the Champions League, the Premier League, the FA Cup and the Caraboa Cup} and every fan will be dreaming of seeing them win it all. But achieving that fate will be hard knowing that Jurgen Klopp's team is thin at the moment and lacks the fire power to push in all front. Apart from Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane there's nobody else in the team that can guarantee Liverpool 20 goals in all competition this season.  Divorck Origi though is an exception but the 25-year-old Belgium international is more of an impact substitute rather than a game change.  With that in mine would it be smart to risk Salah, Firmino and Mane- who is already suffering from a dead leg and knock- in the Caraboa?  Is the Caraboa Cup so important that Jurgen Klopp will be willing to risk the world best trio in a $2m worth cup.  If no, then there's no point prioritize the match knowing that Liverpool&

Pep Guardiola praises Liverpool duo Alexander Arnold and Andy Robertson

Pep Guardiola has lauded praises on Liverpool' sensational fullback Trent Alexander Arnold and Andy Robertson.  Both fullbacks have provided the width and creativity currently lacking in Reds team midfield. They have created more assists than all of Liverpool midfielders combined {23 to 6}.  In fact, Arnold has a Guinness World Record for the most assist by a defender in a single season {13}.  Guardiola is fully aware of their attacking prowess and has decided to praise them.  "The quality they have. If you play high, they get in behind. They are so fast", Guardiola said during his press conference.  'Alexander-Arnold and Robertson are incredible crosses. They have fantastic headers, they win second balls. It's a real complete team".

No Ronaldo, no goals! Real Madrid in self destruct mode as Champions League exit looms

What an impact a single player can make in a team. Real Madrid had that player once in Cristiano Ronaldo, a superstar who single handily created chances and won matches on his own.  He was able to win 14 trophies with Real Madrid did also manage to become the clubs' record goalscorer with 369 goals and assists 114.. He is arguably the greatest player ever to play for Real Madrid but the mistake Los Blancos made was not to find an adequate replacement for the 40 goals per season striker.  Real Madrid are in self destruct mode evident from their present struggle and lack of consistency. This season Madrid haven't won back to back games neither have they scored more than 20 goals this season.  The goalkeeping department is presently in shambles, Thibaut Courtois have conceded nine goals in his last 14 shots. In fact, half of the 24 shots he's faced this season have flown past him. The midfield is decline while the attacker apart from Karim Benzema are not scoring goals.

Breaking: Two Liverpool defender to miss Champions League clash with Genk

Trent Alexander- Arnold will miss Liverpool's trip to Switzerland after picking up a knock during training.  The Guinness World holder for the most assist by a defender in a single league campaign will now be replaced by James Milner or Joe Gomez. Why?  Liverpool do not have a like for like replacement for the full backs neither do they've for the wingers. Andy Robertson, Alexander Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane do not have quality replacement.. But rather makeshift players who can put in a shift and get the result until their back.  Another news coming in from Melwood is that Joel Matip have missed today's training season and could also miss the trip to Switzerland.  Matip is reportedly suffering from cramps and could miss the clash..  In his absence, Klopp will certainly call on Dejan Lovren who played very well against Leicester City in which Liverpool went on to win 2-1.  Liverpool have played two Champions League matches, losing one to Napoli (2-0) a

Steven Gerrard: Liverpool duo Arnold and Robertson are world best full backs

Liverpool's greatest player Steven Gerrard has lauded praises on Trent Alexander Arnold and Andrew Robertson who have contributed immensely to Jurgen Klopp's team.  Arnold and Robertson are not just attacking fullbacks, they're the creative heart of the team. They take the corner kicks, swing in the crosses, take free-kicks and even score goals.  This season, they've both contributed 8 assists in 12 Premier League to help Liverpool maintain an unbeaten start to the season.  Speaking exclusively on their strength and phenomenal contribution to the team, Steven Gerrard said:  “What we have in Trent and Robbo now, straight away, you would put them in the world-class bracket,” Gerrard told the Liverpool Echo. “They are up there with the best players in their position, worldwide. So there's no point saying how good could they be because they are already there. The thing for Trent now is can he maintain that consistency for as long as he can? Because he can go o

Chelsea vs Liverpool: where the game will be lost and won

The blockbuster encounter between Chelsea vs Liverpool will see two of Europe's finest teams pelt their wits and tricks against each other. Frank Lampard youthful side will be hoping to become the first team in 15 attempts to Liverpool's juggernaut from taking all three points in the Premier League. But achieving that fate won't be easy and Lampard knows it.  Lampard and his coaching team know they have to stop Liverpool's world class attacking trio of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane from scoring.  Those three have scored 16 of the 21 goals Liverpool have scored in their opening 5 matches of this season. If Chelsea can stop those three from scoring, their chances of winning the game jumps from 35% to 75%.  Secondly, Lampard also knows Liverpool's midfield is made up of three aggressive tacklers and incessant runners who will press Jorginho, Ross Barkley or N'Golo Kante {if that's possible} to win the ball back and launch a quick counte

Messi explains why Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola is the best manager in the world!

Barcelona's greatest player Lionel Messi has rated Pep Guardiola has the best manager he has worked with.  Under the tutelage of Guardiola, Messi went on to win 14 trophies in 4 years including Barcelona's first ever treble {the La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Champions League}. Barcelona is the only team in La Liga history to achieve that fate. They won the treble two times in history {2008 and 2015}.  Guardiola's impact at Barcelona and Spain was massive. He introduced a revolutionary brand of football tiki-taka that confused not just his competitors in Spain but Europe and the rest of the world.  Barca dominated domestic football for four years while Spain won the World Cup {2010} and the European Championship {2008 and 2012}.. All that success was achieved in Guardiola's four year sting at Barcelona. Today, Spain can't even reach the semi final of a major competition nor can Barcelona reach a major European final.  Messi believes Guardiola and Luis

Rafa Benitez reveals what will happen to Liverpool if they lose to Manchester City at Anfield

Former Liverpool coach Rafael Benitez is backing his former team to finally win the Premier League title.  Liverpool are unbeaten in the Premier League this season, they're six point clear of second placed Manchester City who they play next at Anfield.  A win will move them 9 points clear from the rest of the pack and further cement their hold in the League title. But a defeat will be catastrophic, Jurgen Klopp and his team will be under immerse pressure from the press who will instantly judge their credibility.  Benitez don't want to see that happen but warns Liverpool against complacency.  "Liverpool are six points clear at the top of the Premier League and they are favourities to win the title. It has been a long time coming", Benitez told Sky Sports.  "Jurgen Klopp's side have the intensity, they have the quality, they can play counter-attack or they can sustain their attacking. They have a lot of very good players and they're extremely com

Why Real Madrid star Eden Hazard must prove himself against PSG

Real Madrid will kick off their Champions League campaign against PSG on Wednesday night and the rest of world will be expecting to see a mind blowing game.  One man everybody will be watching is Madrid's $150m acquisition Eden Hazard who will be expected to take the game by the scruff of the net and single handily win the game like his predecessor Cristiano Ronaldo did in the past.  Ronaldo is the greatest goalscorer the world have ever seen, a role model kids around the world should emulate. He always preaches: ' Talent alone won't take you anyway but, hard work and commitment are the key ingredients to the success'.  Without doubt, Hazard possess similar qualities to Ronaldo, maybe not in physique and aerial prowess but when it comes to pace, dribbling skills, stamina and goals, Hazard is just as good as Ronaldo.  On Wednesday night, Hazard will have to prove himself to the watching world that he is not of waste of money but rather a foundation in which Madr
