Jurgen Klopp once said Roberto Firmino is the world best striker and he wasn't wrong with that statement. Firmino might not be so prolific, he has something rarely seen in modern strikers.
He presses the opposition relentlessly, link up play intelligently and creates goalscorer chances for others. His on and off ball movement is exceptionally good. His daft touches, feints and close control are so good its reminiscent of Brazil legend Ronaldo Dilma.
What makes him really good his tenacious running and carve a goal-scoring opportunities for his strike partners- Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.
Do you know out of 50 goals Sadio Mane have scored for Liverpool, Firmino have assisted or have a hand in 32 of those goals. And out of the 76 goals Mohamed Salah has scored for Liverpool, Firmino has assisted 35 of those goals.
Without him, Liverpool would've struggled to win all eight matches this season. Cause frankly, they don't have any other striker that can selfishly sacrifice himself for the team. He thinks first about the team and later about personal glory unlike Salah and Mane.
They say strikers need goals to build their confidence but not Firmino, he supply goals to others to build his own confidence. This season he has scored 3 goals and assisted 7 in just 8 Premier League games. And in the Champions League last season, Firmino become the only player to have both scored {14} and assisted [10}.
He truly is remarkable and Liverpool are damn lucky to have in their squad.
If the Brazilian gets long term lay off, Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool can kiss the Premier League title goodbye but, if he can stay fit and hungry, Liverpool will become the second team in Premier League history to finish the season unbeaten after Arsenal's 2002 team.
