Manchester United fans react angrily to Ashley Young's one year contract extension

Manchester United captain Ashley Young will not be joining Inter Milan next summer neither will he be signing a pre-contract agreement with other clubs having be given a one-year contract extension.  Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a huge fan of the 34-year-old and feels his presence at the club will be useful to the younger players in the team.  Although, the decision to keep him at the club haven't gone down well with fan who vented angrily on different social medias.  Some of the tweet reads; "How the might have fallen.. "  Another aggrieved post reads: "The more Man U fans want to escape the more the owners give them pain".  Another reads: "This Ole and Co. are really taking us for granted. You can't be renewing Ashley's contract while there are real loopholes to cover.. it's getting out of hand".  Sad ones goes this way: "Why, just why would you do that? He is part of the dead wood that they need clearing out "This ...

Milner plays like his 20 and 5 things we learnt in Liverpool's 2-1 win over Leicester City

Image
Another game, another win, Liverpool have beaten Leicester City 2-1 Anfield to make it 8 wins consecutive.

The Reds have now made it 46 matches without a defeat at Anfield and scored an incredible 106 goals at home. 96 of those goals have come from Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah.

Mane yet again proved why Lionel Messi rates him as the best player in the world by scoring an unbelievable goal to put Liverpool 1 nil up and then making key interceptions and tackles to the delight of the fans.

His goal though was cancelled by James Middson but, Mane yet again won a penalty which James Milner converted to give Liverpool all three points.

Here the five things we learnt:

1. Dejan Lovren is a better defender than Joe Gomez and deserves to start ahead of the English man-

Lovren showed again why Jurgen Klopp wanted him to stay at Anfield despite the cash off from AS Roma and AC MIlan.

Klopp knows Lovren is a World Cup finalist and at his best he is among the top 5 defender in the world. He was just too good for Liecester City.

2. Sadio Mane will hit the 20 goal mark this season-

The Premier League's highest goal scoring Senegalese will hit the 20 goal mark this season. He already has 5 goals in the Premier League and looks good enough to rival Tammy Abraham or Sergio Aguero to the golden boot.

3. James Milner should replace Jordan Henderson in the first team-

If Milner was 25 or 26-years-old, he would've been given a 5 year contract along with the captain armband. He covered more grounds then any person in the pitch, assisted Sadio Mane's first goal with a well timed pass and then scored the winning goal from the spot.

He is a special player and Liverpool are lucky to have him. Fabinho and Wijnaldum are also brilliant players.

4. James Madison and Youri Talismans will become top players-

Leicester City midfielder James Madison and Youri Talismans both have the technical skills to develop into world class players. They are quick, strong, skillful and good in a one on one situation.

Against Liverpool, Madison showed his class by dictating the tempo of the game before smashing in a equalizer which unfortunately turned out to be a consolation goal and not the equalizer.

5. Leicester City can finish in the top 4-

Leicester City have all it takes to finish in the top 4 this season.  Already, the top two is known, Liverpool and Manchester City but the remaining two spots are yet for grabs.

Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur at the moment won't finish in the top 4 which leaves Chelsea and Arsenal as the only club capable of stopping Leicester City from tasting Europe football for the second time in 4 years.

Manchester United 1- 1 Liverpool: Marcus Rashford is a beast and 5 things we learnt

For a while it felt like Manchester United were superior to Liverpool as their moved the ball much quicker, created good chances and opened the scoring through a magnificent ball to Marcus Rashford.  Rashford for one was just unstoppable, his energy, swagger and relentless running scared the death out of Liverpool's defense including Van Dijk who struggled all game to contain him.  He did score the goal that would've been the match winner but one area of judge from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer changed everything.  Taking off Rashford allowed Liverpool's defense to push forward and pile pressure on United's brittle back line.. It allowed Andrew Robertson cross a delicious ball into the 12-yard box which evaded everyone except Adam Lallana who needed just a tap in to score and restore parity.  Although, Liverpool did have the lion share of possession but without their star man, Mohamed Salah to stretch United defense, they really struggled to create chances....

Mane, Salah, Alisson or Van Dijk: Which Liverpool player deserve to win the Ballon d'Or?

For the first time in history, seven Liverpool players have made the shortlist of the Ballon d'Or.  Alisson Becker, Van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Trent Alexander Arnold and Gini Wijnaldum have all made the list but the list don't feel right.  They're Liverpool players that really deserve to be that list. The likes of Andrew Robertson who is currently the best left back in the world contributed 11 assists with 2 goals last season en-route to Liverpool winning the Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup should've been included.  Joel Matip also deserve to be included. His the best 'right centre back' in the world and the only defender capable of dribbling past defenders while marauding forward.  There's no other defender in world football who can take the ball from the back, skip past two or three defenders before lying out a pass or shooting accurately to goal. Matip is the only defender who posses that trait and that is enoug...

Fabinho could miss Manchester City clash: So should Liverpool rest him against Aston Villa?

Fabinho might have struggled for 5-6 months to make Liverpool's first team when he first arrived but now, he is one of those names Jurgen Klopp never omits in the first team..  He plays every game nowadays and makes key contributions to the team's game plan. His tackles, interceptions and dynamism remains one of the key reasons Liverpool are yet to lose a Premier League game this season.  But, the Brazilian tackles haven't been always good and have resulted to four yellow cards. If he picks up another against Aston Villa he will miss Liverpool's title deciding clash against Manchester City at Anfield.  No disrespect to Aston Villa, they're a good team but Liverpool don't really need Fabinho in the team to win.. Its going to tough no doubt about that, but the likes of Jordan Henderson and James Milner can play in his position and Liverpool will still win.  So should Liverpool play him or rest for the penultimate clash with Manchester City?
