Manchester United fans react angrily to Ashley Young's one year contract extension

Manchester United captain Ashley Young will not be joining Inter Milan next summer neither will he be signing a pre-contract agreement with other clubs having be given a one-year contract extension.  Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a huge fan of the 34-year-old and feels his presence at the club will be useful to the younger players in the team.  Although, the decision to keep him at the club haven't gone down well with fan who vented angrily on different social medias.  Some of the tweet reads; "How the might have fallen.. "  Another aggrieved post reads: "The more Man U fans want to escape the more the owners give them pain".  Another reads: "This Ole and Co. are really taking us for granted. You can't be renewing Ashley's contract while there are real loopholes to cover.. it's getting out of hand".  Sad ones goes this way: "Why, just why would you do that? Rafa Benitez reveals what will happen to Liverpool if they lose to Manchester City at Anfield

Image
Former Liverpool coach Rafael Benitez is backing his former team to finally win the Premier League title.

Liverpool are unbeaten in the Premier League this season, they're six point clear of second placed Manchester City who they play next at Anfield. A win will move them 9 points clear from the rest of the pack and further cement their hold in the League title.

But a defeat will be catastrophic, Jurgen Klopp and his team will be under immerse pressure from the press who will instantly judge their credibility.

Benitez don't want to see that happen but warns Liverpool against complacency.

"Liverpool are six points clear at the top of the Premier League and they are favourities to win the title. It has been a long time coming", Benitez told Sky Sports.

"Jurgen Klopp's side have the intensity, they have the quality, they can play counter-attack or they can sustain their attacking. They have a lot of very good players and they're extremely competitive, but nothing is guaranteed just yet.

"Sometimes a title can depend on one game and sometimes it can depend on a single moment in one game, so imagine what might happen if Manchester City beat Liverpool this weekend. Pep Guadiola's team would then be so close.

"The media would be asking questions- can they do it, will they do it, are they feeling the pressure, can they cope with it?- and it will build up and build up".

Rafa Benitez, Brendan Rodgers and Jurgen Klopp are the only Liverpool managers to have come close to winning the Premier League title. But each of them had moments that ended their emphatic run to the final. Benitez lost the title after Andrei Ashavin scored 4 goals to draw Liverpool 4-4 at the Emirates.

Rodgers lost it when Liverpool lost 2-0 to Chelsea at Anfield and later, drew 3-3 to Crystal Palace despite leading them 3-0 in the first half.

Klopp meanwhile lost it when his team lost 2-1 to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium along with draws to Leicester City, West Ham and 5 other teams.

"After last year, Liverpool have more experience and that's always a positive, but City have grown used to being at the top. They know what it takes to win. They also have fantastic talent. What Liverpool possess is the advantage and they certainly have the potential to go one step further, but this is football and it's far too early to talk about what will happen in May. Nothing is definitive in November".

Liverpool will play Manchester City next on Sunday and the whole world will be watching the game.

Manchester United 1- 1 Liverpool: Marcus Rashford is a beast and 5 things we learnt

For a while it felt like Manchester United were superior to Liverpool as their moved the ball much quicker, created good chances and opened the scoring through a magnificent ball to Marcus Rashford.  Rashford for one was just unstoppable, his energy, swagger and relentless running scared the death out of Liverpool's defense including Van Dijk who struggled all game to contain him.  He did score the goal that would've been the match winner but one area of judge from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer changed everything.  Taking off Rashford allowed Liverpool's defense to push forward and pile pressure on United's brittle back line.. It allowed Andrew Robertson cross a delicious ball into the 12-yard box which evaded everyone except Adam Lallana who needed just a tap in to score and restore parity.  Although, Liverpool did have the lion share of possession but without their star man, Mohamed Salah to stretch United defense, they really struggled to create chances....

Mane, Salah, Alisson or Van Dijk: Which Liverpool player deserve to win the Ballon d'Or?

For the first time in history, seven Liverpool players have made the shortlist of the Ballon d'Or.  Alisson Becker, Van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Trent Alexander Arnold and Gini Wijnaldum have all made the list but the list don't feel right.  They're Liverpool players that really deserve to be that list. The likes of Andrew Robertson who is currently the best left back in the world contributed 11 assists with 2 goals last season en-route to Liverpool winning the Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup should've been included.  Joel Matip also deserve to be included. His the best 'right centre back' in the world and the only defender capable of dribbling past defenders while marauding forward.  There's no other defender in world football who can take the ball from the back, skip past two or three defenders before lying out a pass or shooting accurately to goal. Matip is the only defender who posses that trait and that is enoug...

Fabinho could miss Manchester City clash: So should Liverpool rest him against Aston Villa?

Fabinho might have struggled for 5-6 months to make Liverpool's first team when he first arrived but now, he is one of those names Jurgen Klopp never omits in the first team..  He plays every game nowadays and makes key contributions to the team's game plan. His tackles, interceptions and dynamism remains one of the key reasons Liverpool are yet to lose a Premier League game this season.  But, the Brazilian tackles haven't been always good and have resulted to four yellow cards. If he picks up another against Aston Villa he will miss Liverpool's title deciding clash against Manchester City at Anfield.  No disrespect to Aston Villa, they're a good team but Liverpool don't really need Fabinho in the team to win.. Its going to tough no doubt about that, but the likes of Jordan Henderson and James Milner can play in his position and Liverpool will still win.  So should Liverpool play him or rest for the penultimate clash with Manchester City?
