Manchester United fans react angrily to Ashley Young's one year contract extension

Manchester United captain Ashley Young will not be joining Inter Milan next summer neither will he be signing a pre-contract agreement with other clubs having be given a one-year contract extension.  Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a huge fan of the 34-year-old and feels his presence at the club will be useful to the younger players in the team.  Although, the decision to keep him at the club haven't gone down well with fan who vented angrily on different social medias.  Some of the tweet reads; "How the might have fallen.. "  Another aggrieved post reads: "The more Man U fans want to escape the more the owners give them pain".  Another reads: "This Ole and Co. are really taking us for granted. You can't be renewing Ashley's contract while there are real loopholes to cover.. it's getting out of hand".  Sad ones goes this way: "Why, just why would you do that? He is part of the dead wood that they need clearing out "This ...

5 reasons why Real Madrid is still struggling despite depending £300m this summer

Image
Paris Siant German's 3-0 win over Real Madrid sums up Los Blancos poor recruitment st during the transfer window.

Madrid really struggled to impose themselves, they were bereft of ideas, lacked the intensity to match PSG neither did their star players create anything of note except for two canceled goals.

Everybody expected to see Eden Hazard take the game by the scruff of the neck and win it single-handily for Real Madrid like Cristiano Roanldo consistently did in the past. But, he laboured all day and sight of former Everton man Idris Gueye taking the ball off him infuriated Zinedine Zidane hwo had to substitute him in the 70th minute.

Hazard, Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale, Jovic and the rest all struggled against PSG and this is why?

1. Real Madrid signed the wrong players and failed to get rid off dead woods-

Madrid might have signed six players in the summer but none of this players can offer the quality needed to compete with the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool, Juventus or even Napoli. Madrid really needs a sporting director who can identify players that can improve Zinedine Zidane squad and not just buying for the sake of buying.

Why spend £170m on Eden Hazard and Jovic and yet struggle to score goals.

2. Eden Hazard is out of shape and out of form-

One of Real Madrid's biggest problem at the moment is Eden Hazard. The 28-year-old is out of shape and not fit enough to be game changer.

Simpoly put, Hazard is too fat and needs to a new training regime to get back to shape. The job of doing that belongs to Madrid's fitness coach Gregory Dupont who must start right away.

If he can get Hazard in shape than Zidane will now be left with getting the best out of him.

3. Real Madrid don't have a reliable midfield-

Madrid decision to sign Paul Pogba or Christian Ericksen is coming back to bite them. One of those players would've provided serious competition for Toni Kroos and Luka Modric who now play with contempt.

Pogba's presence would've forced Kroos and Modric to train harder and work harder for the team knowing that the french man will permanently put them in the bench before they sold off.

4. Madrid's back-line as well as goalkeeper are all average-

Apart from club captain Sergio Ramos, Los Blancos back-line looks average to say the least. Thiabuat have failed to keep a clean sheet in 21 games and have conceded 56 goals in 41 appearances, embarrassing.

As the saying goes: 'Strikers win you games but defenses win you titles', but in the case of Madrid, Carvajal, Eder Militao, Varane and Mendy can't be relied on to win games talk more of trophies. Ramos remains the only dependable defender in Madrid which frankly is not enough.

5. Zinedine Zidane don't have a plan B,C or D-

Zidane might have won 9 trophies in 2 and half years but his game plan was very simply to read. Keep the defense and midfield tight and always, i mean always pass the final ball to Cristiano Ronaldo, he will score. And boy! did Ronaldo score goals..

He is the all Real Madrid top goalscorer with 379 goals and Champions League top scorer with 121 goals. A player of his stature guarantees you goals and trophies.

But Zidane and Madrid's biggest problem now is that Cristiano Ronaldo is gone and no other player can step up and deliver consistently like he did for nine consecutive years.

Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale or even Vinicius Jr are all good players but none of them can guarantee you 40 goals a season which frankly is problem.

Roberto Mancini reveals what Liverpool must fear about Manchester City

Roberto Mancini has warned Liverpool fans not to rule out Manchester City in the race to win the Premier League title.  City are eleven points off Liverpool after 14 games played and many have already ruled them out of winning the trophy.  Mancini who lifted City's first league title in 44 years feel the club can still surpass Liverpool have done twice in history. They did it under Manuel Pellegrini {2013-14} and again under Pep Guardiola {2018-19}.  Buttressing his point, he said: "I think that Liverpool in the last two years are a strong team", he told Sky Sports News.  "But i remember last year in November and December Manchester City were seven points behind Liverpool.  "The Premier League is a very difficult championship. There is too long {to go}".

Jermaine Jenas: Christian Eriksen will consider joining Liverpool in the summer

Former Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas is urging Christian Eriksen not to leave Spurs in hurry as the January transfer window draws closer.  Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will want to sell him to this January to realise some cash but Jenas feels it will be wise for him to stay until the end of the season.  Eriksen will be out of contract in the summer and will be free to join Europe's biggest club including Liverpool whose manager -Jurgen Klopp- is a huge admirer of the dane.   "I think the club were happy to let him leave but they just didn't get the figure that they wanted or Christian didn't get the club that he wanted", Jenas told The Mirror.  "If i was Eriksen and the bid didn't come in that i wanted to come in, i would sit tight, i wouldn't rush. Not only can i move for free in the summer, but that brings in Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, all the big hitters, Man Utd, even Liverpool.  "On top of that you have the huge windfall of w...

Liverpool 2-1 Crystal: Firmino is no average striker and 5 things we learnt

Another game, another victory, Liverpool have finally discovered how to grind out results even when playing way below average.  Palace were good to watch, they stopped Liverpool's swashbuckling football in the first 15 minutes of play and put them to the sword by scoring the first goal only for VAR {Video Assistant Referee} to choke it off.  The first half might have ended in stalemate but the second half saw Liverpool take the initiative through Sadio Mane whose snap shot evaded everyone and found the back of the net.  Wilfred Zaha did restore parity to keep Palace fans believing but in the dying minute, Firmino scored the winning goal to put Liverpool 2-1 up and eight points clear of Leicester City.  Here are the five things we learnt:  1. Van DIjk is a monster, he is a world class defender-  Where will Liverpool be without Van Dijk? Porbably in 7th place or most likely 10th. He won every aerial ball, tussled with Jordan Ayew and came out on ...

Chris Walder warns Liverpool: Sheffield United won't lose at Anfield

Chris Wilder has lauded praises on Liverpool and their iconic stadium 'Anfield' but warns, that his team aren't coming to Merseyside to lose like others.  Liverpool haven't lost a game in 52 matches neither have they lost a match at Anfield since April 2017. This season, they've won 17 games and drawn just once to Manchester United.. Powerful!  But, Sheffield United also boast a remarkable record. They've suffered just one away defeat to Manchester City which many believe was enabled by referee Chris Kavanagh.  Wilder believe Liverpool will be tough but his team can give them a fight.  "Going to Anfield, iconic stadium, fabulous experience, everything that Liverpool bring to the English game", Walder said during his press conference.  "They are the most powerful, historic of clubs in our game and going so well.  "But we'd like to put a little bump in their road, as we tried to do at Manchester City".

Is Jurgen Klopp really better than Manchester City super coach Pep Guardiola?

J urgen Klopp metallic style of playing football have finally gotten the approval its craves from the world governing body -FIFA.  The German tactician used that Gegen pressing/long balls to win Liverpool their sixth Champions League along with the UEFA Super Cup against Chelsea.  And in the Premier League, Liverpool have lost just twice in 52 premier league matches and are still unbeaten at home since 2017.  Added to that Liverpool this season are the only team in Europe's top five division to win 6 of their opening six matches in a row.  No doubt Klopp is a fantastic manager but beating Pep Guardiola to the FIFA World Best Coach feels strange and questionable.  Why? Guardiola is the first and only manager to win the Premier League title with 100 points and 98 points respectively. Don't forget, Liverpool haven't won the league title in 30 years and have failed three consecutive times under Jurgen Klopp. Guardiola meanwhile has wrapped up the league tit...

From £90m to just £15m: Thomas Muller finally heading to Liverpool

According to Bild, Thomas Muller will join a Premier League team this summer after growing disillusioned with life on the bench. The 30-year-old is currently relegated to the bench and only used sparingly to give rest to the likes of Philippe Coutinho or Sergi Gnaby. Such demotion from Niko Kovac has hurt him deeply and now he wants to move to bigger and better club.  Jurgen Klopp is a huge fan of his German World Cup and once tried to convince him to join him at Liverpool back in 2017..  Klopp was ready to pay £90m to bring him to Anfield but, Muller felt Bayern Munich still loved him and were capable of winning both domestic and European trophies.  He was absolutely right with that assertion back in 2017 but today, Muller is back up player who can't even get into a team that contains the likes Sergi Gnabry, Philippe Coutinho, Kingsley Coman and others.  Fed up with having to watch others player while he sits on the bench, Muller has reportedly spoke...

Joel Matip: The Liverpool unsung hero setting the world on fire

What a player Joel Matip has turn out to be be. The former Schalke 04 defender has grown in stature and class and without doubt, one of the best defender in the world.  His partnership with Van Dijk have been sensational, both men have created the perfect platform for Liverpool to win 16 consecutive matches on the spin. Liverpool are yet to lose a game in their opening seven matches of the season and that success is completely down to Matip and his defensive partners who ensures they limit the number of goals going in while contributing upfront.  They're times this season when Van Dijk have really struggled to impose himself on the game but thanks to the presence of Matip whose tackles are timely; aerial prowess sensational and ball distribution phenomenal, Van Dijk have been left off the hook.  What makes Matip very special is that he is the only defender in the world who dribbles his way past players when surging forward.  Matip can dribble past 3 to ...

Sterling scores Champions League hat-trick as Manchester City smash Atlanta 5-1

What a statement from Manchester City! The Citizen has crushed Atlanta 5-1 at the Etihad Stadium.  The man of the match will certainly got to ever improving Raheem Sterling who scored his first ever Champions League hat-trick along with an assist.  Atlanta did start the match with a spirited display and first got on the score sheet after the referee had adjudged that Fernandinho fouled Illici right at the edge of the penalty area.  Up stepped R. Milinoskiy who scored powered in fantastic spot kick right into the bottom-left corner with Ederson going the wrong way.  But, six minutes later, Sergio Aguero equalized to make it 1-1 before burial a sport kick to make it 2-1. That goal means Aguero has now scored 25% of City's goals in the Champions League- that's 34 out of City's total of 138 goasl.  The scored half returned to normal service  and Manchester City bossed the midfield and created teh better chances.  Raheem Sterling made it 3-1 af...

Jurgen Klopp reveals three areas Liverpool must improve

Salzburg's sensational comeback to draw Liverpool 3-3 before losing 4-3 have stunned not just the fans who watched the exhilarating match but Jurgen Klopp who feels something has to change.  The gaffer had to withdraw his captain Jordan Henderson whose side ways and backward passing killed of the momentum attack as well as Gini Wijnaldum who struggled to impose himself on the game.  He replaced Henderson with James Milner to provide the steel and combativeness in midfield and Divock Origi to provide more firepower upfront. The substitution did work as Liverpool were able to score in 69th minute thanks to Mohamed Salah's well taken strike. But Klopp has revealed he wants three things to change in the team:  1. The defense must be alert at all times-  Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk didn't click at all and saw Liverpool concede three avoidable goals. Although the first goal was sensational but the remaining two could've been cleared if Joel Mati...
