Manchester United fans react angrily to Ashley Young's one year contract extension

Manchester United captain Ashley Young will not be joining Inter Milan next summer neither will he be signing a pre-contract agreement with other clubs having be given a one-year contract extension.  Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a huge fan of the 34-year-old and feels his presence at the club will be useful to the younger players in the team.  Although, the decision to keep him at the club haven't gone down well with fan who vented angrily on different social medias.  Some of the tweet reads; "How the might have fallen.. "  Another aggrieved post reads: "The more Man U fans want to escape the more the owners give them pain".  Another reads: "This Ole and Co. are really taking us for granted. Mane, Salah, Alisson or Van Dijk: Which Liverpool player deserve to win the Ballon d'Or?


For the first time in history, seven Liverpool players have made the shortlist of the Ballon d'Or. 

 Alisson Becker, Van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Trent Alexander Arnold and Gini Wijnaldum have all made the list but the list don't feel right. 

 They're Liverpool players that really deserve to be that list. The likes of Andrew Robertson who is currently the best left back in the world contributed 11 assists with 2 goals last season en-route to Liverpool winning the Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup should've been included. 

 Joel Matip also deserve to be included. His the best 'right centre back' in the world and the only defender capable of dribbling past defenders while marauding forward. 

 There's no other defender in world football who can take the ball from the back, skip past two or three defenders before lying out a pass or shooting accurately to goal. Matip is the only defender who posses that trait and that is enough reason for him to be included. 

 Finally, Fabinho should also be in that list. The Brazilian is quick, intelligent, strong and above all he is industrious.. He should've been in that list.. 

 James Milner and Jordan Henderson are good players but truth be told, both are not Ballon d'Or materials.

Riyad Mahrez threatens to leave: I don't enjoy sitting on Manchester City bench

Riyad Mahrez has admitted he is disappointed with spending more time on the bench rather than on the pitch.  The 28-year-old joined City in a then club-record fee of $60m from Leicester City in the summer of 2018 but have found competition for places much tougher than expected.  He is forced to compete with Portuguese superstar Bernando Silva and Germany's wonder-kid Leroy Sane.  Last season, Mahrez managed 27 appearances of which 13 of those games were from the bench.   This season, he has started just five games out of 12 and against Liverpool, he was an unused substitute.  Asked about his time at City, Mahrez said: "At the end of the season, i spent several matches  on the  bench", he told the Mirror.  "Mentally, it was difficult to live with. Pay €140m and his yours! Dortmund offers Jadon Sancho to Liverpool

Borrusia Dortmund has reportedly named their asking price for Jadon Sancho who is quickly developing into a world class forward.  According to Bild, Dortmund wants €140m for their highly rated forward cause they feel he is worth more than Ousmane Dembele who left the club to join Spanish giants Barcelona back in 2017 for €109m.  Why? Revealed: Manchester City star Raheem Sterling injured Joe Gomez during trianing

When we all thought the nerve wrenching clash between Manchester City vs Liverpool was over,  Raheem Sterling somehow found extra fuel to fight on.  Sterling reportedly clashed with Joe Gomez at the St George's Park Canteen and left Gomez with with scratch under his right eye after the tussle.  At first glance, the England players all thought Sterling was joking when he grabbed Gomez by the neck but after seeing how serious he was and the extent he was going to go with his punches they interceded and broke up the fight.  Embarrassed by Raheem's reaction, Gareth Southgate was forced to drop him for England's European qualifier against Montenegro on Thursday while requesting he issues an apology to the team especially Joe Gomez.  According to the Daily Mail, Jordan Henderson called both players on phone to broker a peace deal and later, he will join up the team and speak to both men..

He leaves in the summer: Should Liverpool extend Adam Lallana's contract?

Liverpool could be losing one of its tried and tested superstar Adam Lallana whose contract runs down in the summer.  The 31-year-old will have the option to sign a pre-contract agreement with any club of his choice on Wednesday when the January transfer window opens.  According to the Telegraph, Jurgen Klopp still wants him in the team and will offer him a year contract at the end of the summer.  Lallana meanwhile has told friends he wants more football under his belt having recovered from years of persistent injuries and fatigue.  If the midfielder those leave Liverpool, he will leave as a Champions League winner, a Club World Cup winner, a Super Cup winner and soon, a Premier League winner.  The question now remains should Liverpool sell him or offer him a one year contract?
