Jermaine Jenas: Christian Eriksen will consider joining Liverpool in the summer

Image
Former Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas is urging Christian Eriksen not to leave Spurs in hurry as the January transfer window draws closer.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will want to sell him to this January to realise some cash but Jenas feels it will be wise for him to stay until the end of the season.

Eriksen will be out of contract in the summer and will be free to join Europe's biggest club including Liverpool whose manager -Jurgen Klopp- is a huge admirer of the dane.

"I think the club were happy to let him leave but they just didn't get the figure that they wanted or Christian didn't get the club that he wanted", Jenas told The Mirror.

"If i was Eriksen and the bid didn't come in that i wanted to come in, i would sit tight, i wouldn't rush. Not only can i move for free in the summer, but that brings in Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, all the big hitters, Man Utd, even Liverpool.

"On top of that you have the huge windfall of wages".

Spurs will play Red Star Belgrade next in the Champions League and Eriksen will be in contention to start.

Mane, Salah, Alisson or Van Dijk: Which Liverpool player deserve to win the Ballon d'Or?

For the first time in history, seven Liverpool players have made the shortlist of the Ballon d'Or.  Alisson Becker, Van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Trent Alexander Arnold and Gini Wijnaldum have all made the list but the list don't feel right.  They're Liverpool players that really deserve to be that list. The likes of Andrew Robertson who is currently the best left back in the world contributed 11 assists with 2 goals last season en-route to Liverpool winning the Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup should've been included.  Joel Matip also deserve to be included. His the best 'right centre back' in the world and the only defender capable of dribbling past defenders while marauding forward.  There's no other defender in world football who can take the ball from the back, skip past two or three defenders before lying out a pass or shooting accurately to goal. Matip is the only defender who posses that trait and that is enoug...

Finally, Gareth Bale ruins Real Madrid legendary status with stupid flag

Who in the world advised Gareth Bale to carry a banner inscribed: "Wales. Golf. Madrid", minutes after the nation qualified for the 2020 Euros.  Bale's decision was ill-advised and now he never be regarded in the same breath as Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Marcelo or even Isco. He disrespected the club that gave him all he has and made him who is today.  The trophies {13 titles including 4 Champions League and 4 FIFA World Club Cup}, the money {over $120m in wages} and the wide world appeal that attracted endorsement deals to him.  No doubt, the 32-year-old have created unbelievable memories like that sensational winning goal against Barcelona in 2013 Copa Del Rey, the overhead kick and long range stunner against Liverpool to win Madrid their 13th Champions League trophy.  But in-spite of those memorable moments, Bale has spent 2 years out of his 6 years at Madrid in the treatment table. He is always injured and hardly fit to play games.  His sa...
