Manchester United fans react angrily to Ashley Young's one year contract extension

Manchester United captain Ashley Young will not be joining Inter Milan next summer neither will he be signing a pre-contract agreement with other clubs having be given a one-year contract extension.  Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a huge fan of the 34-year-old and feels his presence at the club will be useful to the younger players in the team.  Although, the decision to keep him at the club haven't gone down well with fan who vented angrily on different social medias.  Some of the tweet reads; "How the might have fallen.. "  Another aggrieved post reads: "The more Man U fans want to escape the more the owners give them pain".  Another reads: "This Ole and Co. are really taking us for granted. You can't be renewing Ashley's contract while there are real loopholes to cover.. it's getting out of hand".  Sad ones goes this way: "Why, just why would you do that? He is part of the dead wood that they need clearing out "This ...

Liverpool vs Leicester City: Where the game will be won and lost

Image
Liverpool are on the verge of creating history by becoming the first team in Premier League history to win their first eight matches in a row.

But achieving that fate won't be easy cause Leicester City are among the best team in England. They're third in the Premier League table, 7 points off Liverpool and a win will see them reduce it to just 4 points.

To beat Liverpool, Leicester City must play without fear just like Salzburg did against them on Wednesday in the Champions League. Salzburg did concede three goals but the manager made them believe they're not amateurs but champions.

He told to target Van Dijk who is beginning to look tired having racked over 4,345 minutes of football this year alone.. The dutch defender have played eventually every game for Liverpool since he arrived. He is hardly rested and against Salzburg he showed defensive lapses never seen before in his game.

Van Dijk though remains the world best defender and in his day, its almost impossible to dribble past him. Van Dijk, Trent Alexander and Jordan Henderson are looking vulnerable. Leicester City have to target them.

Liverpool meanwhile have to utilize their wide forwards to make the likes of Ben Chilwell and Ricardo Pereira uncomfortable. If those two are forced back, the likes of Marc Albrighton and James Madison will have to fall deeper which will invariably weaken the attack and put Leicester City under more pressure.

It will allow the likes of Trent Alexander Arnold and Andrew Robertson overlap and attack. Those two are very good and giving them space to run and cross is dangerous.

Midfield-wise, Liverpool have the edge over Leicester City. They've a fantastic striker force and their defense though shaky but good enough to stop Jamie Vardy from scoring.

Prediction: Liverpool 3- 1 Leicester City.

Mane, Salah, Alisson or Van Dijk: Which Liverpool player deserve to win the Ballon d'Or?

For the first time in history, seven Liverpool players have made the shortlist of the Ballon d'Or.  Alisson Becker, Van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Trent Alexander Arnold and Gini Wijnaldum have all made the list but the list don't feel right.  They're Liverpool players that really deserve to be that list. The likes of Andrew Robertson who is currently the best left back in the world contributed 11 assists with 2 goals last season en-route to Liverpool winning the Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup should've been included.  Joel Matip also deserve to be included. His the best 'right centre back' in the world and the only defender capable of dribbling past defenders while marauding forward.  There's no other defender in world football who can take the ball from the back, skip past two or three defenders before lying out a pass or shooting accurately to goal. Matip is the only defender who posses that trait and that is enoug...

Sadio Mane is a superhero and 5 things we learnt as Liverpool beat Aston Villa 2-1

What a comeback! Liverpool have beaten Aston Villa 2-1 to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.  The game was good to watch as both side created chances and had attempts on goal. Aston Villa found the back of the net from a set piece scored by Mahmoud Hassan who found the back of the net with a good strike.  65 minutes and Aston Villa still had the ascendancy which forced Jurgen Klopp to take off Mohamed Salah, Gini Wijnaldum and later Adam Lallana for Oxlade Chamberlian, Divock Origi and Naby Keita.  All three changes might Liverpool had to go for the kill and boy! did they.. In the 87th minute, a sublime cross from Sadio Mane found Andrew Robertson who powered in the equalizer and later, Mane finished the rest with a fantastic header..  Liverpool win and now have six points lead over Manchester City who they play next at Anfield.  Here are the five things we learnt 1. Sadio Mane is a super hero but he has to stop going down easily-  ...

Finally, Gareth Bale ruins Real Madrid legendary status with stupid flag

Who in the world advised Gareth Bale to carry a banner inscribed: "Wales. Golf. Madrid", minutes after the nation qualified for the 2020 Euros.  Bale's decision was ill-advised and now he never be regarded in the same breath as Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Marcelo or even Isco. He disrespected the club that gave him all he has and made him who is today.  The trophies {13 titles including 4 Champions League and 4 FIFA World Club Cup}, the money {over $120m in wages} and the wide world appeal that attracted endorsement deals to him.  No doubt, the 32-year-old have created unbelievable memories like that sensational winning goal against Barcelona in 2013 Copa Del Rey, the overhead kick and long range stunner against Liverpool to win Madrid their 13th Champions League trophy.  But in-spite of those memorable moments, Bale has spent 2 years out of his 6 years at Madrid in the treatment table. He is always injured and hardly fit to play games.  His sa...
