Manchester United fans react angrily to Ashley Young's one year contract extension

Manchester United captain Ashley Young will not be joining Inter Milan next summer neither will he be signing a pre-contract agreement with other clubs having be given a one-year contract extension.  Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a huge fan of the 34-year-old and feels his presence at the club will be useful to the younger players in the team.  Although, the decision to keep him at the club haven't gone down well with fan who vented angrily on different social medias.  Some of the tweet reads; "How the might have fallen.. "  Another aggrieved post reads: "The more Man U fans want to escape the more the owners give them pain".  Another reads: "This Ole and Co. are really taking us for granted. You can't be renewing Ashley's contract while there are real loopholes to cover.. it's getting out of hand".  Sad ones goes this way: "Why, just why would you do that? Aguero and Sterling can't score at Anfield and 5 things we learnt as Liverpool beat Manchester City 3-1

Image
Liverpool have done it, they've stretched their point lead to 9 after beating Manchester City 3-1 at Anfield.

The Reds brilliant in attack, they moved the ball much quicker and ensured, each attempt on goal counted.

Fabinho scored a sensational rocket of a shot to open his Anfield goal count before Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane ensured the Kop would be going home the victor. Although City did pull one back through Bernando Silva and had calls for Penalty but in summary, Liverpool scored the goals and City cried the most.

Here are the five things we learnt:

1. Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling just can't score at Anfield-

Its difficult to understand why a player of Sergio Aguero's caliber will be struggling to score at Anfield. He has scored 137 goals in 169 appearances for City in his 10 years sting but, none of those goals were at Anfield..

Against Liverpool, he struggled to make an impact and missed a seater which should have given City the edge to fight back. Aguero is not the only player struggling to score at Anfield. Sterling is without a goal in 8 meetings at Anfeild and don't look like breaking that deadlock any time soon.

2. Fabinho is a world class defensive midfielder-

The Brazilian was one card away from missing Manchester City clash agaisnt Aston Villa. Everybody now know the importance of the 24-year-old.

Yes he is fantastic in breaking up play and winning the ball back but the Brazilian can also shoot from distance.. His thunderous shot against City sent the tone for emphatic 3-1 win.

3. Gini Wijnaldum, Jordan Henderson and Mohamed Salah were all on fire-

Wijnaldum played fanastic well and prove why Jurgen Klopp keeps picking him ahead of Oxlade Chamberlian and Naby Keita. Jordan Henderson did struggle to get into the game but his pin point cross to find Sadio Mane to score Liverpool's 3rd goal of the night was good.

Mohamed Salah, what can you say.. Something about Anfield sparks the Egyptian to live and his fantastic goal scoring run will be good for Liverpool in their determination to win the Premier League.

4. Dejan Lovren was absolutely fabulous-

This is the best game Dejan Lovren has played in Liverpool's colour this season.. He was just good and his diving tackles were unbelievable.

The highlight of his game is the double sliding tackle to deny Raheem Sterlign his slaloming run and goal trade mark goal.

5. Manchester City are not out of the Premier League race-

Liverpool might be nine point clear of City at the moment but, the reigning champions are very good team. The played better than Liverpool and created more chances on goal..

Nobody should rule City out of Premier League race, they're a world class team and will fight till the end.

Manchester United 1- 1 Liverpool: Marcus Rashford is a beast and 5 things we learnt

For a while it felt like Manchester United were superior to Liverpool as their moved the ball much quicker, created good chances and opened the scoring through a magnificent ball to Marcus Rashford.  Rashford for one was just unstoppable, his energy, swagger and relentless running scared the death out of Liverpool's defense including Van Dijk who struggled all game to contain him.  He did score the goal that would've been the match winner but one area of judge from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer changed everything.  Taking off Rashford allowed Liverpool's defense to push forward and pile pressure on United's brittle back line.. It allowed Andrew Robertson cross a delicious ball into the 12-yard box which evaded everyone except Adam Lallana who needed just a tap in to score and restore parity.  Although, Liverpool did have the lion share of possession but without their star man, Mohamed Salah to stretch United defense, they really struggled to create chances....

Mane, Salah, Alisson or Van Dijk: Which Liverpool player deserve to win the Ballon d'Or?

For the first time in history, seven Liverpool players have made the shortlist of the Ballon d'Or.  Alisson Becker, Van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Trent Alexander Arnold and Gini Wijnaldum have all made the list but the list don't feel right.  They're Liverpool players that really deserve to be that list. The likes of Andrew Robertson who is currently the best left back in the world contributed 11 assists with 2 goals last season en-route to Liverpool winning the Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup should've been included.  Joel Matip also deserve to be included. His the best 'right centre back' in the world and the only defender capable of dribbling past defenders while marauding forward.  There's no other defender in world football who can take the ball from the back, skip past two or three defenders before lying out a pass or shooting accurately to goal. Matip is the only defender who posses that trait and that is enoug...

Fabinho could miss Manchester City clash: So should Liverpool rest him against Aston Villa?

Fabinho might have struggled for 5-6 months to make Liverpool's first team when he first arrived but now, he is one of those names Jurgen Klopp never omits in the first team..  He plays every game nowadays and makes key contributions to the team's game plan. His tackles, interceptions and dynamism remains one of the key reasons Liverpool are yet to lose a Premier League game this season.  But, the Brazilian tackles haven't been always good and have resulted to four yellow cards. If he picks up another against Aston Villa he will miss Liverpool's title deciding clash against Manchester City at Anfield.  No disrespect to Aston Villa, they're a good team but Liverpool don't really need Fabinho in the team to win.. Its going to tough no doubt about that, but the likes of Jordan Henderson and James Milner can play in his position and Liverpool will still win.  So should Liverpool play him or rest for the penultimate clash with Manchester City?
