Manchester United fans react angrily to Ashley Young's one year contract extension

Manchester United captain Ashley Young will not be joining Inter Milan next summer neither will he be signing a pre-contract agreement with other clubs having be given a one-year contract extension.  Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a huge fan of the 34-year-old and feels his presence at the club will be useful to the younger players in the team.  Although, the decision to keep him at the club haven't gone down well with fan who vented angrily on different social medias.  Some of the tweet reads; "How the might have fallen.. "  Another aggrieved post reads: "The more Man U fans want to escape the more the owners give them pain".  Another reads: "This Ole and Co. are really taking us for granted. You can't be renewing Ashley's contract while there are real loopholes to cover.. it's getting out of hand".  Sad ones goes this way: "Why, just why would you do that? He is part of the dead wood that they need clearing out "This

Why Adrian feels he should be Liverpool's no. 1 and not Alisson Becker

For the first time in 10 years, Liverpool have two talented goalkeepers going to head to head for a starting spot.  The first is Alisson Becker who is currently injured after picking up a calf injury in Liverpool's first match of the season. But before his injury, Alisson proved he is a world class keeper by leading Liverpool to their sixth Champions League.  He is the only goalkeeper in history who succeeded in winning the Champions League, Premier League and Copa America best goalkeeper.  He is also UEFA Best Goalkeeper and FIFA World Best Goalkeeper. Alisson is a modern day shot-stopper who combines athleticism with good reflexes, accurate passing and an incredible footwork.  But his injury has paved the way for another to emerge from shadow into the spot light.  Adrain is finally fulfilling his talent and developing quickly into one of world's finest goalkeepers.  With Liverpool, he has won his first ever trophy as a player by keeping Chelsea's spot kicks o

Joel Matip: The Liverpool unsung hero setting the world on fire

What a player Joel Matip has turn out to be be. The former Schalke 04 defender has grown in stature and class and without doubt, one of the best defender in the world.  His partnership with Van Dijk have been sensational, both men have created the perfect platform for Liverpool to win 16 consecutive matches on the spin. Liverpool are yet to lose a game in their opening seven matches of the season and that success is completely down to Matip and his defensive partners who ensures they limit the number of goals going in while contributing upfront.  They're times this season when Van Dijk have really struggled to impose himself on the game but thanks to the presence of Matip whose tackles are timely; aerial prowess sensational and ball distribution phenomenal, Van Dijk have been left off the hook.  What makes Matip very special is that he is the only defender in the world who dribbles his way past players when surging forward.  Matip can dribble past 3 to 4 players while blaz

Is Manchester City star Bernardo SIlva a covert racist?

Manchester City Bernando Silva has gotten himself into a messy situation by using racist jokes on his friend and teammate Benjamin Mendy.  Silva compared Mendy to the mascot of Spanish confectionery brand, Conguitos and later posted a indiscriminately video about Mendy's skin.  The 26-year-old asked Mendy if he was wearing clothes despite knowing he is fully dressed in all blacks. In other worlds, Silva was using his skin colour as joke.  But that is joke taking too far and most people see it as insult, a racial stereotype that FIFA along with UEFA and other organizing body are trying to shove out of football.  Racist have created an unwanted storm in football already this season with Italy been the centered of the storm. Romelu Lukaku along with some players of Africa descent have been subjected to monkey chants and discriminatory slurs.  Even in England who claim to have the best league in the world have also witnessed incidents of racism. Superstars like Paul Pogba,

Messi's injuries a warning to Barcelona: 'Its time to plan ahead without the Argentina'

How do you replace a player who scored 50 goals with 28 assists in 51 appearance? Impossible right! Barcelona are in that crucifix of deciding what happens next when Lionel Messi decides his body can no longer carry him and its time he left or, request for more rest than game time.  Messi is 32-years-old but the diminutive Argentina has carried Barcelona on his shoulder for 13 of the last 15 years he has played for them.  He has won them 32 trophies including 4 Champions League trophies and 4 FIFA Club World Cups. He has also scored astonishing 435 goals of which 331 of them were game winners. There's nothing Lionel Messi haven't done to make Barcelona the biggest club in the world but what the Bluagrana giants have failed to do for themselves is to find another superstar in their academy to replace not just Messi but Xavi Hernandez, Andres Iniesta, Carlos Puyol or even Sergio Busquet.  Its buy, buy and buy.. Sadly its coming back to hurt them.. The once dependable Mes

The sad reason why Liverpool can't win the Caraboa Cup?

Liverpool are competing in five fronts this season {the World Club Cup, the Champions League, the Premier League, the FA Cup and the Caraboa Cup} and every fan will be dreaming of seeing them win it all. But achieving that fate will be hard knowing that Jurgen Klopp's team is thin at the moment and lacks the fire power to push in all front. Apart from Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane there's nobody else in the team that can guarantee Liverpool 20 goals in all competition this season.  Divorck Origi though is an exception but the 25-year-old Belgium international is more of an impact substitute rather than a game change.  With that in mine would it be smart to risk Salah, Firmino and Mane- who is already suffering from a dead leg and knock- in the Caraboa?  Is the Caraboa Cup so important that Jurgen Klopp will be willing to risk the world best trio in a $2m worth cup.  If no, then there's no point prioritize the match knowing that Liverpool&

Was the FIFA World Best Player rigged to favour Lionel Messi? The truth is coming out!

Lionel Messi is the FIFA World Best Player for the sixth time in history but something is not right about the voting system.  Olympic team coach Shakwy Ghareeb and Egypt national captain Ahmed Elmohamady have both come out to say their votes weren't counted. Cause if it were, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah would've been sitting alongside Van Dijk and not just Messi. Samuel Eto'o echoed this thought during the ceremony as he questioned the rationale behind picking Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo whereas Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah were arguably the players that won the Champions League for Liverpool.  Mane's unbelievable display against Bayern Munich and Barcelona superseded everything Messi did last season. Mane didn't just win the Champions League with Liverpool.  He reached the Africa Cup of final with Senegal and twice weeks later, scored two decisive goals to win Liverpool the UEFA Super Cup. The 26-year-old was unbelievably good and that that is one

Is Jurgen Klopp really better than Manchester City super coach Pep Guardiola?

J urgen Klopp metallic style of playing football have finally gotten the approval its craves from the world governing body -FIFA.  The German tactician used that Gegen pressing/long balls to win Liverpool their sixth Champions League along with the UEFA Super Cup against Chelsea.  And in the Premier League, Liverpool have lost just twice in 52 premier league matches and are still unbeaten at home since 2017.  Added to that Liverpool this season are the only team in Europe's top five division to win 6 of their opening six matches in a row.  No doubt Klopp is a fantastic manager but beating Pep Guardiola to the FIFA World Best Coach feels strange and questionable.  Why? Guardiola is the first and only manager to win the Premier League title with 100 points and 98 points respectively. Don't forget, Liverpool haven't won the league title in 30 years and have failed three consecutive times under Jurgen Klopp. Guardiola meanwhile has wrapped up the league title twice in

3 reasons why Manchester United must not sack Ole Gunnar Solskajear

Since Alex Ferguson bowed out of Manchester United in 2012, the club have hired and fired 4 managers and fired 3 who failed to replicate Fergie's winning formula.  Ole Gunnar Solskajear is the next manager in the firing line haven seen United struggle so early in the season. The Red devils have won just two matches all season and sit 10 points off league leaders Liverpool who looks destined to win their first Premier League title this season.  The sight of watching Liverpool win consecutive games while United struggle to beat the likes of Crystal Palace and West Ham is embarrassing.. But Solskajear has a solution and soon the fans will see a sudden change.  Here are the five reasons why Manchester United should not sack Solskajear 1.  Manchester United are currently rebuilding their team and will need time to deliver-  United are currently getting it right with their recruitment strategy but for this to work fans have to be patient. Manchester Untied need at least two to

The Reds are unstoppable and 5 things we learnt in Liverpool's 2-0 win over Chelsea

Consistency, defensive solidity, rhythm, intensity and loads of goals pretty much sums of Liverpool at moment.  The Reds defeated Chelsea 2-0 at Stamford Bridge thanks to a sensational free-kick from Alexander Arnold before a brilliant header from Firmino. Chelsea did pull back a goal through N'Golo Kante before they're inability to finish off chances might Liverpool where going ot make it 15 consecutive wins in a spin and their 7 away victory in the Premier League. Here are the five things we learned: 1. Liverpool can't keep clean sheets- Liverpool's 3-0 win over Burnley is the only clean sheet they've managed to keep all season which frankly needs to improve. Jurgen Klopp might now care at the moment but he knows if he is to win the Champions League he has to keep clean sheets at home and score away 2. Chelsea must ditch zonal marking and focus on man to man marking- The ease in which Roberto Firmino scored Liverpool's first goal of the night

Chelsea vs Liverpool: where the game will be lost and won

The blockbuster encounter between Chelsea vs Liverpool will see two of Europe's finest teams pelt their wits and tricks against each other. Frank Lampard youthful side will be hoping to become the first team in 15 attempts to Liverpool's juggernaut from taking all three points in the Premier League. But achieving that fate won't be easy and Lampard knows it.  Lampard and his coaching team know they have to stop Liverpool's world class attacking trio of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane from scoring.  Those three have scored 16 of the 21 goals Liverpool have scored in their opening 5 matches of this season. If Chelsea can stop those three from scoring, their chances of winning the game jumps from 35% to 75%.  Secondly, Lampard also knows Liverpool's midfield is made up of three aggressive tacklers and incessant runners who will press Jorginho, Ross Barkley or N'Golo Kante {if that's possible} to win the ball back and launch a quick counte

Will Liverpool crumble if Virgil van Dijk is ruled out for the rest of the season?

Virgil van Dijk is a world class defender, a leader and above all a professional player who knows ever detail of his job and how to do it. He posses the aerial prowess to trouble any defense in the world, the incisive passes to build the game from the back and the vocal communication to speak to any player/defender and keep him check.  What really makes him special which Jurgen Klopp can attest is his desire to improve and help others improve as well.  The 27-year-old Dutch international have made Liverpool a world class team and today their European champions.  But the question remains, what will happen if Van Dijk is ruled out for the rest of the season? Will Liverpool's defense crumble or remain strong?  Jurgen Klopp was asked that very question during his press conference on Friday and he had this to say: 'I have 4 world class defenders who can play very well. If Van Dijk is injured; Joe Gomez, Dejan Lovren and Joel Matip can equally do the same job'.  But

5 reasons why Real Madrid is still struggling despite depending £300m this summer

Paris Siant German's 3-0 win over Real Madrid sums up Los Blancos poor recruitment st during the transfer window.  Madrid really struggled to impose themselves, they were bereft of ideas, lacked the intensity to match PSG neither did their star players create anything of note except for two canceled goals.  Everybody expected to see Eden Hazard take the game by the scruff of the neck and win it single-handily for Real Madrid like Cristiano Roanldo consistently did in the past. But, he laboured all day and sight of former Everton man Idris Gueye taking the ball off him infuriated Zinedine Zidane hwo had to substitute him in the 70th minute.  Hazard, Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale, Jovic and the rest all struggled against PSG and this is why?  1. Real Madrid signed the wrong players and failed to get rid off dead woods- Madrid might have signed six players in the summer but none of this players can offer the quality needed to compete with the likes of Manchester City, Liverpoo

Why Real Madrid star Eden Hazard must prove himself against PSG

Real Madrid will kick off their Champions League campaign against PSG on Wednesday night and the rest of world will be expecting to see a mind blowing game.  One man everybody will be watching is Madrid's $150m acquisition Eden Hazard who will be expected to take the game by the scruff of the net and single handily win the game like his predecessor Cristiano Ronaldo did in the past.  Ronaldo is the greatest goalscorer the world have ever seen, a role model kids around the world should emulate. He always preaches: ' Talent alone won't take you anyway but, hard work and commitment are the key ingredients to the success'.  Without doubt, Hazard possess similar qualities to Ronaldo, maybe not in physique and aerial prowess but when it comes to pace, dribbling skills, stamina and goals, Hazard is just as good as Ronaldo.  On Wednesday night, Hazard will have to prove himself to the watching world that he is not of waste of money but rather a foundation in which Madr

Klopp reveals why Liverpool can win the FIFA Club World Cup and the Caraboa Cup

Determined to prove his squad is the best in the world, Jurgen Klopp has called on each and everyone of his players to brace up for the challenge.  The Reds will play Aston Villa in the League Cup quarter final and the following day will play FIFA Club World Cup the following day.  Confident of winning both ties, Klopp said: "We had to do it like this. I think it's a really nice opportunity for the younger players", he told reporters.  "I know everyone thinks no chance but football is a wonderful. I would love to be part of that game to be honest.  "I hope they enjoy it, whatever happens. No pressure".  Speaking about Aston Villa's game, Klopp added: "It is a really nice opportunity for the younger players if you grow above yourself, you can make the next step, i would love to be part of that game.  "I hope all the staff enjoy it. It is a wonderful stadium for them, great atmosphere. They can make a step".  Liverpool will

Breaking: Two Liverpool defender to miss Champions League clash with Genk

Trent Alexander- Arnold will miss Liverpool's trip to Switzerland after picking up a knock during training.  The Guinness World holder for the most assist by a defender in a single league campaign will now be replaced by James Milner or Joe Gomez. Why?  Liverpool do not have a like for like replacement for the full backs neither do they've for the wingers. Andy Robertson, Alexander Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane do not have quality replacement.. But rather makeshift players who can put in a shift and get the result until their back.  Another news coming in from Melwood is that Joel Matip have missed today's training season and could also miss the trip to Switzerland.  Matip is reportedly suffering from cramps and could miss the clash..  In his absence, Klopp will certainly call on Dejan Lovren who played very well against Leicester City in which Liverpool went on to win 2-1.  Liverpool have played two Champions League matches, losing one to Napoli (2-0) a

Steven Gerrard: Liverpool duo Arnold and Robertson are world best full backs

Liverpool's greatest player Steven Gerrard has lauded praises on Trent Alexander Arnold and Andrew Robertson who have contributed immensely to Jurgen Klopp's team.  Arnold and Robertson are not just attacking fullbacks, they're the creative heart of the team. They take the corner kicks, swing in the crosses, take free-kicks and even score goals.  This season, they've both contributed 8 assists in 12 Premier League to help Liverpool maintain an unbeaten start to the season.  Speaking exclusively on their strength and phenomenal contribution to the team, Steven Gerrard said:  “What we have in Trent and Robbo now, straight away, you would put them in the world-class bracket,” Gerrard told the Liverpool Echo. “They are up there with the best players in their position, worldwide. So there's no point saying how good could they be because they are already there. The thing for Trent now is can he maintain that consistency for as long as he can? Because he can go o

Reds legend John Aldridge slams Man City: They behave like spoilt kids when they lose

Liverpool legend John Aldridge has slammed Manchester City coaches and players who were all lived during and after the match.  Guardiola already has two memes of him sticking his two fingers out and protesting a disallowed penalty call and a handshake to Micheal Oliver saying 'thank you very much'- although connoted with a sarcastic undertone.  Aldridge didn't like the way City players reacted especially Kyle Walker and Raheem Sterling who took the fight to the English training camp.  Expressing his disappointment with the City players and coaching staff, Aldridge said:  "Pep Guardiola certainly showed his petulant side with his antics on the touchline and after the match", Aldridge told reporters.  "I think Manchester City are so used to getting their own way most of the time that they don't know how to react when things go against them and they behaved like spoilt kids really. I understand their frustrations on the touchline because I've

He is coming to Old Trafford! Arturo Vidal set to join Manchester United

Manchester United are reportedly in the race to sign Barcelona superstar Arturo Vidal.  According to Italian paper, Corriere della Sera, the midfielder's agent Fernando Felicevich is currently in Europe to discuss with various clubs who are interested in signing Vidal. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer remains a huge fan of the combative midfielder who will certainly add steel and bite to United's porous and lackadaisical midfielder.  Signing the 32-year-old won't be cheap though, he will cost United £17m despite having a year and six months left to run in his contract.  Asked about Barcelona and his lack of game time, he said: "It is not me who makes the decision on if i play or not, that is down to the coach", he told reporters.  "But the people will see int he end and i am calm because i just want to keep malign the most of the opportunities given to me and to carry on aiming to win titles and lift trophies in the future".  Vidal is the first and only playe

Is Manchester United 1999 team better than Manchester City'S 2019 team?

Premier League's most decorated player Ryan Giggs is overly convinced that he played for a Manchester United team that can compete with Pep Guardiola's incredible Manchester City team.  Giggs feels the 1999 Manchester United that won the Champions League, the Premier League and the Carling Cup {now called the Caraboa Cup} can rival City. He even went as far as saying United of the past can challenge City to the Premier League. Pep Guardiola made history by becoming the first and  nly manager in Premier League history to win the Premier League title with 100 points and the following season retained it with 98 points.  Sir Alex Ferguson meanwhile have never won the league with more than 92 points. His highest point tally was in 91 points back in 2008.  Comparing both teams don't match up. The present Manchester City team is far stronger and more equipped to compete for domestic titles than United were in the past.  Added to that, City are the first team in Premier Le

Can Liverpool star Andy Robertson stop Raheem Sterling?

Rahem Sterling's decision to swap Liverpool for Manchester City is finally paying off. He has won 6 trophies including back to back Premier League titles.  His form, fitness and general play has improved remarkably well under the tutelage of Pep Guardiola. And today, he is rated as the second most valuable player after PSG Kylian Mbappe. No disrespect to Gabriel Jesus or Sergio Aguero {both players have never scored at Anfield}, Sterling is the real threat Liverpool will face when City visit Anfield.  Why? Sterling is bullet fast, fantastic in getting past player with a 1-2 step overs and terrific in a on one situation.. The 24-year-old England international now scores an average of goal a game and looks likely to hit 50 goals this season. He has already scored 8 goals in 11 Premier League matches, 17 goals in just 17 games this season.  Stopping him won't be easy, Andy Robertson will have to double up his effort and ensure he doesn't get a foot wrong.. Cause once
